Do you prefer plane or bus for tours within the country?

If you were to participate in a domestic tour in your country, which one would you prefer if there were both plane and bus options? I think it would be better to choose the bus option. I know it is very tiring, but when I shop from the places I visit, it can be difficult to bring them by plane. It is easier to bring them by bus. Also, the bus is a good option to learn the region better. The plane saves time.

Having done both, I still prefer bus. Both are exhausting, but at least on a bus you can get off and stretch your legs and buy refreshments, and you're also constantly seeing something out the window. And on bus you don't have to go through security, deal with rude flight attendents and you can bring more stuff so it's a bit less hectic.

The only reason I would go by plane, is if I was traveling with someone else and didn't want to exhaust them. But if it was just me, I'd rather go by bus

You explained it very well. Thank you. The problem with the bus is that it is difficult to sleep on long journeys and there is no toilet that we can use at any time. My biggest concern during journeys is being able to meet my toilet needs.

My country is too small to have domestic flights. And there is a good train network, with hardly any real competition from bus services on domestic routes. So, if not by own car, the train is basically the only realistic option.

Netherlands. But most European countries have a decent train network. Buses are less common for domestic travel, and most countries are too small to have a high number of domestic flights, or in case of domestic flights, the (high-speed) train is a good alternative.

Simply faster but you do have the hassle of getting to the airport, boarding etc. If you live near one its great otherwise a pain. London to Edinburgh would be a 8 hour drive not including rests. A train would be 5 hours. A plane about an hour and a half. In reality you have to work out if its faster for you when you take in things like getting to the airport. So for me in west wales its 8 hours drive to Edinburgh or 3 hour drive to an airport then an hour and a half flight.

But when you go by plane and shop there, it can be difficult to bring them home. They don't accept everything on the plane. That's why the bus seems more attractive to me.

Airports are a nightmare today. Just the long lines and cavity searches are enough to chase me away. I took the train to NYC and it was way better that flying. I just showed up at the train station about 20 minutes before the train and just walked on like I was getting on a subway train.

Yes, the train is definitely a very good option. But this is not possible everywhere.

In many places the train is definitely more possible than air. Look at Italy. Several airports, but they do not access anywhere as much as trains. You can go just about anywhere in Italy by train, and have your choice of ones hitting every town or ones that bypass the smaller towns and move you faster. You can go many more places by train in Italy.

The train is also a vehicle I like very much. I haven't been on the train for 15 years. Because there is no train in the city I live in. The train is the best option among planes or buses.

I see. I live somewhere where there are plenty of trainstations and I have tried all three means of transport bus, plain and train and the train especially if it's a fast one is my favourite.

Very nice. I have never been on a high-speed train before. I have been on normal trains. I want to ride high-speed trains too. How fast can high-speed trains reach in your country?

They can reach up to 300 kilometres per hour currently. Do you have high speed trains in your country?

Yes, there are but I have never ridden one yet. Their speed varies between 250 and 300 km/h. However, they do not go that fast on any route. They usually go at 120-150 km/h. I wish they would go at full speed.
