What do you like about autumn?

It is that hard stop to summer or rather it was as last few years it’s been warm in October and November, we had trees with leaves on in December. The colours, the migrating birds, those leaving, those arriving, then that do I still wear shorts n a t shirt days or do I go back to wearing jeans. I also start preparing the house and cars for winter, I start my Christmas shopping early, start stocking up on logs, which makes for some nice early morning walks in the woods, as Autumn tends to bring the stronger winds and more dead fall. The nights close in and I have friends over in the evening rather than during hot summer days (using the word hot loosely there lol).

I'm in Florida and autumn will not begin until sometime in November. I like going outside and not feeling the humidity that we have in the summer. I like the rains being much less frequent. And I like the fall holidays and social activities.

I love the colors of autumn, the petrichor and scent of wet wood after a particularly rainy day, the cold yet fresh breeze, the crunch of leaves underfoot. I like that some days it's cold enough for hot chocolate and a book while others are perfect for lemonade and a walk through nature. I suppose I just like the season in general, it inspires me a lot. 😅
