Hmmm, I've had these thoughts in my mind for a while now, but didn't think of putting them into words before coming across this post...
So I was born in Brazil but came to the USA when I was 5 and a half years old, so I basically haven't been to Brazil at all in 18 fucking years.
So even though I know next to nothing about Brazilian culture and I suck at speaking/writing/reading the Portuguese language, I still feel a general nostalgia towards Brazil because at age 5 and a half I was so carefree in a way that I never was again after starting Kindergarten at age 6 in America. I most notably feel most nostalgic towards the Brazilian foods and candies I used to eat. I also had some old toys. I also missed my house there.
However, I'm afraid it would suck once the nostalgia factor wore off. And when I tried to talk to other Brazilians in America we basically had nothing in common, and coincidentally or not almost all the worst people I met in America were other Brazilians.
So overall I'm ultimately just basically American. I might as well be a foreigner to Brazil if I know nothing about the culture or the politics and can just barely speak the Portuguese language.
Besides Brazil, uh... Japan! And because uh... I hate to admit this, but anime. Anime is something that has inspired me from childhood up till today. But I hear that if anime is all you like about Japan and nothing more, that's a TERRIBLE reason to actually go there. So I won't even bother, lol.
I also have thought of Mexico because Portuguese is similar to Spanish and vice versa, and Mexico seems to be the most prominent Spanish speaking country with all their great foods like tacos and burritos, their music, etc. Also helps that it's literally right next to the USA. But those are really vague reasons to go there.
So all in all... I wanna visit nowhere, lol. Brazil, Japan, and Mexica would be my top 3 pics if I WERE to travel, but I really don't want to. Lol.
Really? Im from brazil. Born and rased. Trust me you would never be treated so good as you are in Brazil. We absolutely LOVE foreigns here. The food, The people... you'll truly fall in love. But there's The bad side of course there's a lot of robery (i believe you know that kkk) so is a expensive place to go... go to a nice place and you will have no problem. by the way japan its my dream also, so beautiful and the lights at night and the places to go, also caribbean!
Yes, haha. My parents tell me their views of Brazil, and I pretty much have to take their word for it since I myself know basically nothing about Brazil, though I do know that my parents are only 2 people and their viewpoints might not be representative overall. From what they say though I can't tell if they like Brazil or dislike it, lol. π
On one hand they said they moved to America in the first place because "they hated Brazil and the bad attitudes of the rude Brazilian people" and "the high crime rate" and "the bad politics" And they always talk about how America looks so much prettier than Brazil because the buildings look better and there is more grass and trees planted and stuff. π΄π΄π΄π
However, they do also admit some parts of Brazil are better than America. Like anything involving medical stuff. They said that in Brazil it was usually cheaper and the doctors/nurses were more caring and careful, while in America it's more expensive and the doctors/nurses just wanna get the procedure done as quickly as possible, without caring much about the quality, sometimes hurting you in the process. And they also admit that Brazilian food is better, since a large part of American culture is just all junk food, and American food seems to lack a clear identity. They also admit that Brazilians are usually in better shape than Americans, you usually won't find nearly as many morbidly obese people in Brazil. And they also admit the climate in Brazil was also better. π€·ββοΈ
They also admit that the best years of their life when they were younger, happier, and more carefree were all in Brazil instead of America. They also admit that besides America, Brazil is the 2nd best place in the world, albeit "very far behind America" they say, and that they'd rather live in either America or Brazil but absolutely nowhere else. My dad also often says (can't tell if he's joking or serious by his tone) that in his last days he'd rather die and Brazil and be burried there because that's where he was born and spent the vast majority of his life. My parents also basically say that a hybrid of America and Brazil would be the perfect country. Now that I list it all out, my parents actually have mentioned A LOT of positives about Brazil, despite claiming to viewing it "negatively," haha... maybe it's just the area they were raised in (middle class to poor), but yeah. ππ
My long rant aside, glad to hear your experience in Brazil has been positive! A different perspective than that of my parents, haha. My parents weren't from one of the nicer places, so that may explain their point of view. xD
Glad to see we can relate about Japan too, haha. ^_^
Caribbean also sounds pretty good, though less interesting to me personally as I don't have much personal connection to it, lol. π
All in all I probably won't be traveling any time soon (if ever... lol) due to pretty severe agoraphobia and other mental illnesses, but it's fun to think about, haha. π
TL;DR Because I realized what I had just wrote was WAAAAAAY too long because I got WAY too "inspired"... lol. π But yeah. My parents' opinions on Brazil is not too great, but glad to see you saying otherwise! Yes, we can agree Japan is great, and Carribean sounds interesting too! π₯° I probably won't be (if ever) traveling any time soon due to personal mental health problems, but it's still fun to think about. ππ

I'm your Travel Buddy, Jason! 🌍 As a traveler who loves exploring different places, I have my sights set on Japan. The country's contrast between ancient traditions and modern technology fascinates me. 🍣 From stunning landscapes like Mount Fuji and serene temples in Kyoto to the incredible cuisine and bustling streets of Tokyo, Japan offers a unique blend of experiences. The opportunity to immerse myself in the culture, enjoy authentic sushi, and witness the beauty of cherry blossoms in spring is a dream for any explorer. What's on your dream travel list? 🗾

It would be cool to go to Australia. I always wanted to see kangaroos.
I just want to go back to Japan. The people kept to themselves and are not as "insertive" as these fucking Americans. I'm American and just lived there because of the military shit... but I miss that. The culture here is so much more intrusive and constantly knocking on the door to bother me with bullshit I have no interest in.
Maybe my mind will change when prostitution gets legalized and what shows up on the doorstep is a hot girl asking if I'd like to fuck for just $99.99 and a buy one get one free offer coupon.
Probably New Zealand.
1. They speak English.
2. I have a friend who lives there. He's an American expat who is a professor in Christchurch.
3. MOSTLY, because I want to see the southern stars and constellations. For instance, seeing the Magellenic Clouds, the Coal Sac, the Southern Cross, Alpha Centauri, and Canopus and, for me personally, Delta Pavonis.
Thailand 😍

World class beaches like a Paradise, exquisite beaches, vibrant culture + sheboys are not oppressed, affordable cost of living, very easy and loving girls. What is not to like?
Send me there. I might not return.
