Have you ever tried to meet an online friend in real life? If so what happened?

I am planning on doing this.
I am planning a trip to Europe in February starting with a group tour in England, France, Germany, Switzerland and France.

I have two friends I have known on Twitter/X for 3 years.
They are both from a wealthy family and say they would like me to stay at their place for a weekend.

At the end of the group tour I will be in London and I will meet my friend Eleanor in the city where we will get lunch and then we will go to my other friend Diana who lives with her Aunt in the countryside.

I believe this isn’t a scam because
I have known them for 3 years and they never asked for money.
They have multiple social media accounts that are years old.
They have friends online who say they are real.

I've totally met online friends irl. One was a guy from this site. We hung out quite frequently for a while, but then I moved.

Another one was a friend I met in a video game who I've known now for years who just recently came over for a weekend. I believe he will be back in May.

I met an online friend a couple of years ago. We'd met online by accident, and started chatting and texting. We talked on the phone some, exchanged photos, and agreed to meet in person.
