I traveled all the Balkan countries..

I traveled all the Balkan countries..
Not counting the US-Canada, Mexico, Jamaica, Haiti, UK, Ireland, Iceland, France, Spain and Belgium
HAITI?
Labadee?
And why aren't you counting the US and Canada?
@KostasKouvalis I live in the US so it's silly to count it. I count Canada. Haiti was Labadee, yes. It barely counts but the cruise ship does misrepresent that as their private island when it's obviously on the mainland even though there was just one store and some voodoo dancers.
The USA is a very big country and if you have been to states far from the state you live in, I think you should count them.
Yeah, I started counting it. If a fellow American asks me in person, I'm not gonna say it 'cuz it's obvious, unless they ask me specific states.
Online or with foreigners I'll include it, but specify that I live there.
No wonder so many people think it's an island, but still, how do you not know where you've been?
But yeah, it's a peninsula.
Oh they have voodoo dancers? Neat. I saw pics of a "traditional village", but I guess it's fake, 'cuz i don't think people actually live there.
They won't even let tourists go there who aren't on the cruise, and if you're on the cruise you can't leave to explore the "real Haiti", unless you get written permission from the captain and sign a waver that they aren't responsible for you. And this was before the civil unrest. Very sad as there is a beautiful colonial city, palace ruins and a giant citadel, I think the only one in the Americas.
I have very mixed feelings about Labadee. I mean yes, geographically you're in Haiti, which normally I would count (I still would), but I probably wouldn't even mention that I've been to Haiti, or I would just put in parenthesis (Labadee)
Usually when someone says that, I immediately assume they've been to Labadee. I don't know about others.
If it wasn't gated off, it would be different, but the fact that it's basically its own world, I'd feel awkward saying I've been to Haiti. It's like going somewhere and never leaving the resort.
Hell, the airport is probably more authentic😂
Also, they boast about how they employ 300 Haitians. 300 Haitians is nothing, and I doubt the majority of that money actually goes towards helping the Haitian people.
I wonder if I ever go to Haiti for real if people will assume I just went to Labadee.
😳
That's more than me.
I used to mainly travel around the US when I was a kid teenager. But now, if I only have a couple weeks off, I'd rather use that time to see another country.
I explored more of the US though during COVID, and I went to Niagara Falls and and Montana and the Pacific Northwest, but that's only 'cuz I'd already done two international trips that year.
I used to think it would be cool to visit all 50 states. When you're young you think you have all the time in the world, but as you get older, this view changes.
If I had an unlimited amount of money, why not? But since life doesn't work that way, I decided I want to focus on the places that are truly worth seeing.
Also, domestic travel is so much more expensive compared to travel abroad.
There are still a few places in the US I'd like to see, but I feel bad about spending time and money on my own country.
There are a lot of people like me, who've been to other countries but have barely explored the US. I've explored all of the West, a bit of the south and a little bit of the Great Planes. But pretty much everything else is uncharted territory for me
I probably shouldn't count Haiti. I wouldn't want to go to authentic Haiti though. They probably have something worth seeing, I just wouldn't feel safe going there. I didn't notice a gate but it probably is true or I'm sure lots of people would be harrassing you to buy things the entire time.
I think the only point to going to all 50 states is just to say you did. I imagine North Dakota has something somewhere, I just don't know what it is. I'd mostly just go because I need South Dakota too and so I'm most of the way there already. I have probably 6 states where the Haiti argument says they probably shouldn't count anyway. I just barely went into them and saw nothing of the actual state other than going across the border just to say I did. I need three trips to finish the last 7 and I assume I'll get to them eventually, I just don't know when.
I would, but not right now
North Dakota always gets shit on, but there are far worse states. They have Teddy Roosevelt Park. Some forts. Some Indian and Norwegian stuff
😂
I had two questions on my account about these things, but i can't find them now
I have never bothered to count them all. I have travelled dozens of times.
I did 4 European vacations in one year once.
Rich woman =))

There you go. You'll have to zoom in though to see some of the teeny ones
