When was the last time u took the public transportation?

I assume you do not mean Amtrak or taxis or Uber/Lyft or commercial airlines, but, instead, a government-funded mode of transportation.

Probably December 2010 when I took my Czech exchange student to Manhattan for Christmas Eve. We had a surprise planned for her taking her to a Czech/Slovak restaurant, Zlata Praha, in Queens, so we had to take the 7 train (part of the NYC subway) from Rockefeller Plaza. Thankfully, the subway is an elevated train in that part of Queens and the restaurant was just underneath where our stop was. I don't remember taking any public transit since.

When we got off the train and down the stairs, we covered her eyes and escorted her to the restaurant. She didn't know where we were going or what we were doing but we did her it was a surprise for Christmas. Once we got her inside the restaurant, we let her see but didn't tell her anything. You should have seen the smile on her face; she'd been in America almost 4 months and I am sure was a bit homesick, so entering this restaurant filled with Czech and Slovak people and stuff (like pictures of Czeck celebrities on the wall) was like going home. So, we had a traditional Czeck Christmas Eve dinner... and, for the first time, I had Kofola which she was so fond of telling me about, but that we were not able to get for her where we lived.

We don't have public transport where I live, but I regularly make trips into Chicago, and get around via public transport while I'm there.
