What is it about where you are makes it worthwhile being there?

It's half past 9 in the evening and the sun set a while ago but the most amazing blue (azure) skies have formed overhead. This is one of the few dwindling things that has kept me here for the last 11 years. Are there things that make where you live magical and reminds you of what you call home?

In London, the ability to dine on food from practically any country in the world, buy anything I need practically any time I want, the public transport that makes cars a once a year thing, plus the opportunity to visit museums, cinemas and theatres, although I don't do that as often as I should.

In Germany, the woodland, the wildlife, fresh air, the beer, and the opportunity to catch a bus that comes once an hour only twenty minutes walk away.

They both have their pros and cons!

I live on one of the biggest rivers (Mississippi) in the world and on the edge of a National Forest.

Germany is - all things considered - a solid country all around. Safe, no gun culture bullshit, good food at affordable prices, relatively clean with lots of recycling, walkable cities and public transportation, public healthcare, diverse environments (mountains to hike and the sea to swim)... but to be clear, it's no magic paradise. We and our government have enough problems to tackle.
