LA was really cool, as was Austin, Texas. I’d probably give the edge to LA just because there’s more of a variety of scenes, like some spots are urban, some are more suburban looking, some are beachside, etc.
Something about the general landscape of Texas is kind of depressing, lmao. I may not be built for more desert-y stuff. And it’s too damn hot. But the Sixth Street bar scene is about the best party you could hope to find.
Top shelf Mexican food in both places though, that’s always a big deal to me👍
Almost forgot the obvious, New York City. I don’t think of it as “travel” as much, because it’s within reasonable driving distance, I don’t fly to get there.
I “sports-hate” New York, but the city itself is dope. Pre-1900 extreme urbanity, I love it, haha. I’m someone who appreciates the urban aesthetic, even “urban decay.” The vacant lot with rubble and graffiti…. absolutely love that vibe. And anywhere there’s an elevated subway train cutting through a neighborhood, that’s a thing of beauty to me.
This right here, this is exactly what I love…
Nice!
Definitely LA. I'm so Cal born and raised I love LA. It's sad what's happened to this beautiful marvel. I've driven on the freeway to Marina Del Ray when the sun was coming up the way it lights up the city scape is absolutely amazing.
Marina Del Ray is beautiful!
It's an incredible place.
Sweden, Norway, and Finland stand out to me as holiday destinations. I have never seen the appeal of the USA, and I was born and raised there. It is just so overrated.
I agree that there are some very nice parts in LA. I still have a lot of traveling to do haha
Yes LA is nice for the most part. And yes so do I lol
I'm not sure. Probably either Las Vegas or Canada.
That's great lol I will probably make that my next trip then! Thanks!
I'm your Travel Buddy, Jason! 🌍 I'm a traveler fascinated by different places and cultures. Choosing the best city is tough, but I'd say Kyoto, Japan, is at the top for me. Its blend of traditional culture with stunning temples and gardens, alongside modern cuisine and innovation, is unparalleled. Walking through its historic streets and witnessing the cherry blossoms in season is magical. Exploring Kyoto's unique charm is a memorable adventure! 🌸🚶♂️

LOTS to choose from for different reasons.
Barcelona is lovely as is Naples, Vilnius is absolutely amazing and is a place I will return to in future. I liked San Francisco and Chicago but few other US cities. I'm going to Poznan and Krakow again next weekend and reckon Krakow is one of the nicer cities in Europe. Glasgow and Edinburgh are great but weather is a bit inconsistent. Dublin though was (about 30 years ago) pretty good but Belfast is cooler. Amsterdam is a bit touristy while many German cities are exceptionally functional and strong, but my favourite lies between Prague and Hong Kong for different reasons. Prague has a rugged tough working class cultural vibe and Hong Kong for it's efficiency and convenience of multicultural food and opportunity.
I've heard Barcelona is nice. Have you been to Madrid?
@Panthero80 I've not been there but have heard (many friends have been there that it's not as nice as Barcelona for architecture but is also less touristy. Basically a proper capital city that isn't about tourists so much. There is a different culture though with the Basque in Barcelona having a more working class vibe.
I can understand what you are saying.
Sounds fun!
Virginia city reno nevada
It is so cool Look it up on Google but every year I used to go to the race. Virginia City Grand Prix for 14 years. I think it was and then nowadays. Please a couple friends and myself. We go up to the gentleman's club and go ghost hunting. That is scared to p*** out of me a couple of times look up, dad. It's an old Old Town started in the 1800s gold Mining town and it's still going today with the same old boardwalks old buildings. It's cool.
The picture of L. A looks like every movie that has L. A as a setting.. LOL.. I was in Tampa, Florida and the trees looked like that and in that similar set up too.. So far Tampa was a nice city.. Not bustling as Chicago, but the chill vibe and the warm weather made me actually like it.. I just wouldn't care for the rainy weather or hurricanes..
@Simslover92 I have to say is my Favorite City on the planet, although I have not visited every place I want to see... Berlin, Germany is a huge city and it could be very nice to live there if I spoke German?
My man. Take my advise as a German, Berlin is mostly a shithole with some historically important places and maybe even a few nice corners here and there. But it's mostly a conglomerate of exploding villages were nothing fits together. We have a dozen more interesting and scenic cities that you should visit.
@Simslover92 I made an error in my first reply... I meant to say that PARIS was my favorite of all so far... but Berlin was, or seemingly was a Second.
@DryGermanGuy I got lost downtown in Berlin, and could not find my way back to ABBA, which is where we were staying while in Berlin... I have to say, I was not there long enough to really know the city, but it is large, and growing... Thanks, for a comment from the man that is 'in the know"... Thanks, Dry guy !!!
@Simslover92 Of the two I pick New Orleans since I am from Louisiana…. lol. If you are ever back this way let me know. I would love to say hey and lunch is on me…
Aww thanks and sure!
For me, the best city I've visited would be Brisbane, Queensland, Australia. Good weather, nice people, good food, interesting history, lots of things to do. The beach is not too far away.
Probably toooo many by now. Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, Spain; Tübingen, Germany; Saint Petersburg, Russia; Tel Aviv, Israel; Paris, France...
I like versions of my city in other countries. Every city is going to have something good about it though.
I like St. Augustine, Florida. Oldest city in US and so much to see.
@Simslover92 Thank you for the Like
You're welcome
I dont travel a lot but from San diego to South Dakota we went through a lot of small towns. I keep telling my wife lets move to s Dakota. Close to sturgis. As you know I have a harley and every August is strugis bike week.
Las Cruces, NM was pretty cool to me. You’re in the desert southwest yet just a one hour drive you can actually go snow skiing at Cloudcroft. It has a killer FREE outdoor gun range, the best cuisine and all kinds of outdoor recreation
some of my favorite memories are probably in Cincinnati & Galway
The only big foreign city I have been to is Caracas, Venezuela. I liked it at the time, but this was before Chavez and Maduro. I don't know what it is like now.
In the USA, by far New Orleans, the food, music, atmosphere.. amazing.
But that mix is not any real city. Jerusalem was best. No terrorism that day.
I disagree. New Orleans has a lot of history and culture there. It's a real city to me. And Los Angeles is definitely a real city with all its attractions.
Phuket is magical especially if you love peace and quiet.
In my linited travel, Toronto, followed by Key West, and St. Lucia!
St Petersburg Florida.
Every single city outside of Philadelphia is gay. Now i moved far away from Philadelphia 10 years ago because it's unlivable, but it's home and the best city I ever fled.
Probably Rome :)
I love both of those, but my favorite is Paris.
Belfast, but many others come close,,,
Quebec City, because of the people and lifestyle
Edinburgh. The one in Scotland.
Nashville or Louisville
For me it would have to be Las Vegas
Paris
reykjavik in iceland
I loved Barcelona
Bruges, in Belgium.
Düsseldorf.
Rome is Beautiful.
Las Vegas
Chicago
Tel-Aviv
Havana
