When you travel, which is your vehicle of choice?

Flying barely qualifies as traveling. You see point A and point B and miss the 99.99% in between. In other words you didn't see anything. Land travel is the ONLY way to see anything.

Driving a car is land travel. It's fast enough to get long distances, but is slow enough to see things. Plus you can make side trips whenever you want, which you can't do with planes or trains or busses.

For more adventure, hitch-hiking is the way to go. I've hitched around 15 thousand miles and it's by far the best experiences of my life. I'd love to do it again, and may even do it some day.

Airplane for destinations in another country, or within the same country over 800 km (500 miles). That's what I'd travel by car in a single day and still do it comfortably.

If we were two drivers, I'd easily travel double that amount in 2 days. Anything over that seems like a waste of time.

I don’t usually travel far, so car. If the trip is more than 5 hours drive to get there, then I fly.

If it's just a few hours away, car or train would be better. For longer distances then airplane
