Sanibel Island Florida. Nice, laid back place and yet close to Ft Myers. It has nice beaches, good restaurants and not a lot of traffice. The winters ave very mild and the summers are not roasting hot.

@dustybiker2 i have not been there in 25 years. I would like to relocate there but my kids all live here and my wife would not want to leave them. Most of the immigrants are here legally. Illegals usually leave for greener pastures since the welfare benefits are non existence and they have no problem with helping ICE agents.

Reasons:

Cheese, Wine, Pétanque, Pastis, deep history & culture, beautiful hamlets, a good balance between working and living, agreeable weather.

In some remote tropical paradise such as Bora Bora islands in French Polynesia, or Madagascar, or Hawaii, where life flows much slower, traffic is non-existent, people are much friendlier, warmer. Plus you'd get to live close to nature, enjoy the breathtaking sceneries, turquoise crystal clear waters with cool fish and turtles, where you'd get to snorkel at for free. Honorable runner-ups: New Zealand and Japan for their peaceful and laid back lifestyle, good work life balance and generally chill culture, fresh and seasonal produce all the time, coastal walks within an hour or less of the city

I would speak French fluently and live in Paris. It's the most walkable city I've visited. In nice weather people are dining al fresco until 10PM every evening.

I’ve been there. Antarctica can be painted with just 3 colors… white, dark brown and blue. Nice to visit though but nothing but ice, water, volcanic hills and mountains along with some wildlife that gets consolidated into certain areas.

Except you would live with a small group of scientists in a few building or at best a very small town with no road out. For have the year it is dark and ridiculously cold and windy and then the other half it is light and just simply cold. I was there on a week of hot weather, 32 F degrees 0 C. But some people do I fact like it. There are documentaries on life there during the winter. People need to pass a psych evaluation as they are stuck there in the winter as no one can get to them. The problem is, you are in an unusual situation that you cannot change with people you cannot ignore as it is so small. This creates issues.
