It was a British chap who started in 1998 in Patagonia and crossed the Berring Sea and Siberia and swam across the Caspian Sea and just a couple days ago arrived back in the UK. BUT, there are several problems with this claim.
One, there's not much documentation of his trek and no one heard of this guy until a few months ago
Secondly, Russia isn't the sort of country you can just casually walk through. Assuming he did, one person said he had to keep flying back to the UK to renew his Russian visa and pick back up where he left off. So that instantly invalidates the media's claims that the walk was continuous, he used no technology to get around and said he wasn"t coming home until he finished.
He also allegedly swam the entire Caspian Sea, sleeping and resting on a support vessel.
Thirdly, that route would take a few years, but not THAT long, but like it allegedly wasn't contious.
Fourthly, how was he financing all this if he was jobless?
Fiftly, he claimed he only met kind people.
Sixthly, there was COVID
Seventhly, I recently saw some stuff about the world's longest walkable route that no one has ever completed due to geo-political issues, ie "traveling through restricted areas of Russia."
So yeah, I call bullshit.
