Hong Kong is not its own country. It’s a former British colony that came back under the ownership of China sometime in the 90’s. While the influence of the west is still heavily present in this administrative region and it functions with relative independence compared to the rest of the country, it is still China.

I've been to all three of these. Each has its own charm.

China, being much larger and geographically diverse, is the best one to visit vacation if you're interested in sightseeing.

If you want to meet people and learn about their culture, Taiwan might be the best choice.

If you want to see a very Western city where people speak Chinese, the go to Hong Kong
