You don't have to go to another country or city for vacation. You can just go to an all inclusive hotel and chill out. Maybe get some spa treatment too. Zero stress because it's not far and you don't have to worry too much about departure and arrival times.

When you limit it to affordable, I think of places to which I can drive within 6 hours. Savannah and Charleston are close enough and if you don't book a hotel in the middle of the historic district, rooms are affordable. Both are very steeped in history, have great restaurants, and are also close to Atlantic Coast beaches.

If you're willing to risk your safety, Mexico, Guatemala and the Dominican Republic. And maybe El Salvador, if you aren't planning to take any excursions. You can also often get good deals to St. Martin
