As an American touring in a middle eastern country how should I dress and what tips do you have?

If I were to visit a Middle Eastern Country to study a bit of the history, what tips should you suggest about my traveling and how to dress? Responses would be greatly appreciated.

Depends where you are travelling. If you are going to holy sites, you definitely can’t wear heels, or tight clothes. Loose fitted clothing like an abaya with hijab. Beware going to touristy places like Egypt especially the pyramids there are forceful sellers so don’t make eye contact and say you don’t have money. There could be street beggars who may also want money. But I can’t expect that type of stuff in Dubai or Qatar.

Like anywhere you visit just gotta be safe and notice your surroundings. There’s high tension right now with Donald Trump and his administration that the U. S. wants carry out an attack on Iran. Iran has stated if the U. S. does, Iran will cause significant damages to U. S. military bases in the Middle East which those bases should not be there anyways but I don’t want to get into the geopolitics of things.

Just be mindful of that as well. Iran is a beautiful country and those “protests” were paid Mossad agents where the U. S. openly admitted they caused and inflicted on Iran. Thats not democracy that’s U. S. terr0rism. Avoid going to Syria because the American puppet Jolani has his goons displaying the ISIS flag in Syria 🤦🏻‍♂️

The Middle East could be such a beautiful place but the U. S. and Isr@el have caused so many deaths all for this western/greater Israel project. I hope there’s peace in the Middle East. I will end of by saying this, if you go to holy areas like Karbala, Baghdad or Najaf in Iraq people are nice, good food, be respectful to other countries rules and customs and you should be fine.

But if you’re just travelling to places like Istanbul, Cairo, Dubai, Qatar, I don’t really see a dress code but I would say women dress more modestly so bring a few hijabs just in case, good luck and have fun

My #1 tip: Don't go. First of all, many countries are ban US travelers. Second the Middle East is the area of the world most prone to war and/or terrorism. Third Americans are not popular in most of the world right now. I was there briefly under orders from the US Navy. My review 1 out of 5 stars, do not recommend

Dress modestly as in do not expose your knees, shoulders, chest, do not wear extremely tight clothing like leggings or clothes that reveal your body shape. If you're a guy do not approach women especially locals. Do not stare at women. No PDA if you're travelling with your boyfriend/girlfriend. Be aware of people's personal spaces and enjoy. People won't be rude to you or look down on you for being a foreigner. If you have any further questions feel free to ask.

If I was an American I wouldn't go any where in the middle east. Much to dangerous. Even being a Canadian myself I wouldn't travel there.

I think you need someone from the country to advise and it would depend on where. Like Cairo is probably more tolerant of western female dress but maybe don't pack your push up bras.

If you go off the beaten track tolerance might be less. Go with the most conservative advice I'd suggest.

It would depend a lot on which country you are going to. Some Middle Eastern countries are pretty liberal. In the Turkish television show "Shahmaran" female characters are in semi-rural Turkey but still dress like American women. If you are going to Saudi Arabia, while in theory things are more liberal than they used to be, you still should wear a hijab.
