As a Turk, seeing every other Turk ask the same "What about do u think Turkey?" questions creates a certain impression on others.

It makes us look like an insecure nation that bases its self-worth on the opinions of other countries.

I really hope they are just trolling and not actually being serious.

Very beautiful and interesting, but lots of scammers and the food was dissapointing. European version is better.

That being said, when I visited in 2020, it seemed much more laid back then other Muslim countries. Unfortunately, your current leader doesn't care about tourism or the people. The current prices are outrageous, and your Lira is practically worthless.

I love how it mixes Europe and Asia—modern cities and deep history in one place. Istanbul’s energy, Cappadocia’s landscapes, the beaches around Antalya and Fethiye, and the food… wow: kebap, baklava, menemen, simit, Turkish tea and coffee.

People are usually very warm and hospitable, which makes traveling there feel special.

Okay, well @Agape93 seems to have broken the seal on that so...

An ill-informed Western view, or at least the ill-informed view of this Westerner, is that Turkey is:
- governed by a despot, which nobody seems to be doing much to stop
- treats women poorly in general, and abjectly in some cases
- has a long-term war with Kurds that, frankly, have more ill-informed sympathy in the West than Turkey does
- appears shackled to its geography with a foot on Europe and one in Asia and isn't able to make up its mind whether it wants a rich, open, liberal future, or a retreat into theocratic darkness.

All completely ill informed, sorry. But it's an honest 'what do I think'.
