What are some warm, tropical, fun places for a US based traveler to visit in October or November? Affordable, fun places to go for NYE celebrations?

So I went to Miami during Christmas vacation week last year, and holy smokes that place was so F’in busy.

Traveling during peak travel season is just generally a bad idea.

Prices were way the F^ck up, crowded as sh^t and thats not to mention that Miami was literally ranked the most expensive place in the entire world to celebrate NYE last year.

But I watched this video of this German guy who travelled there in October and had no issue with crowds.

I was in pure shock and disbelief when I saw how empty the places he visited were compared to when I was there.

So that got me thinking, is it just generally better to vacation in October/November since its less crowded and (presumably) much cheaper as well?

For tropical destinations, the weather is still decent in October-November right?

Like the water’s still warm, and the sun isn’t excoriatingly hot?

Similarly in Cancun (which also has a reputation for being tourist overcrowded) I noticed this American guy who seemingly had the place all to himself in November.

Anyway, Cancun didn't seem bad to visit (for that time of year) but I’d still be curious to know from you guys,

Where do you suggest I visit during the October-November period for a vacation?

I’m really interested in Mexico for some reason, but I also came across Saona Island, DR which also seemed really nice.

Anyway, just curious for your ideas.

Also, if I wanted to celebrate NYE someplace tropical (with fireworks or just genuinely fun celebrations) that wasn’t too crowded, busy or expensive, where should I go?

Nicaragua or Colombia perhaps?

I’m less sure about where I should consider going for NYE personally.
