Have you ever wanted to circumnavigate your country or make another epic and memorable trip? And did you do it?

In the literal sense, circumnavigating can of course only be done by boat around an island or continent. But I came across this interesting initiative to 'circumnavigate' Eurasia by car, following the coast line as closely as possible. I actually saw the car passing by. A shame I couldn't talk to the driver and team.

It's fairly doable here in Wales as there's various roads that run right around the country. Some will weave in and out of England. Alternatively you could walk the Offas dyke path that roughly follow the border then join the coastal path that runs the entire length of the coast. Another option would be go by canal boat down the border then jump in a yacht to sail the coast.

I've circumnavigated it by foot and car but not all at once and mostly by coincidence rather than design.

Nope. I have no desire to sail around the United States. I have driven across most the continental United States. I wouldn't mind crossing the continental United States by train to gain a different perspective, because there are some cool luxury train in the United States, but the cost of the trip would probably be unjustifiably high. It would be an interesting adventure, though time consuming. Maybe one day, if I feel like burning piles of money for no good reason.

Yup. I've driven back and forth across the USA several times. But now I want to do it to the extent possible by rail in a first class sleeper car on a train with a dining car. I want to be free to just observe the changing landscape without having to worry about driving.

Australia built a road for this. It is about 14,000 km and was mostly completed in the 1920s. It is a rite of passage to do 'the lap'. I am waiting for petrol price to come down.

You also have to time it so you are not in the wet season.
