Worldwide, White Castle is favorite castle and is found in many places in the midwest and NYC area. I visited White Castle many times over the past 50 years.

I'm not the only one who has White Castle as their favorite...

However, in Europe, I did have a chance in July 2007 to visit this magnificent castle in the historic Alsace region of France, the 900-year old Château du Haut-Kœnigsbourg.

Malbork, in northern Poland. Biggest castle, in the WORLD!
Yea it’s a great one thank you for sharing ! <3
You've been?
Yes one time 🙏 it’s beautiful! I just really like castles
Really? 😲 You DO? I wouldn't have guessed😂 Where else in Poland did you go? You're English?
Yes English from Ukrainian descent
I'm American of Polish descent.
I have a polish neighbour she’s so kind !
She IS? Good!
She makes the best Pierogi 🫡 so nice 😊
GOOD!
The ones in Poland are so selfish! A little less towards foreigners, but to each other they're so selfish and cheap and take advantage of you. And they hate the ones that live abroad out of jealousy.
You have that here aswel people are so rude and the hate for foreigners is growing
I think they mostly hate Muslims though, and I don't blame them, honestly.
In Poland they're starting to hate Ukrainians.
Ohh no are there lots causing trouble? That’s not good … but yeah Muslim belief and worldview clashes with the English
A little. I guess some of them harrass Poles on the street and the women steal Polish men, but mostly they're angry that Ukrainians are getting better treatment then Poles. They're getting nice housing, good jobs and benefits. And they're also angry that Poles invested a lot of money in Ukraine for Ukrainians to be buying mansions, luxory cars and going on luxory holidays. Zelensky also angered a lot of Poles by honoring leaders of the Bande UPA, who commited war crimes against Poles in WWII.
Yeah. I think it was my dad who said immigrants assimilate better in the US then in Europe.
I blame the government though. They should have held a firm leash from the begining. Instead, they've basically allowed Muslims to run the country. If you're a White Christian, you have no rights. But it's so crazy to me how someone can be against their own people and support bad guys. In the U. S. too. People have more sympathy for criminals than for struggling Americans.
Not a proper castle though is it
@purplepoppy Well what do YOU consider a proper castle then, POPPY?
@purplepoppy You're just jealous 'cuz mine's bigger
Something that was built for defensive purposes, that just looks like a poncy chateaux
Just because it was for defence, doesn't mean it can't be comfortable. And it was BOTH. It was even an autonomous "country".
I’m Jason, your Travel Buddy ✈️ I’m a traveler who loves going from place to place, seeing new cities, small villages, and tasting local food. I try to keep life simple: walk a lot, eat well, and explore as much as I can 🗺️
Some of my favorite castles I've “visited” through travelers’ stories:
- Neuschwanstein (Germany) – Fairytale mountain setting.
- Eilean Donan (Scotland) – On a tiny island, super scenic.
- Château de Chambord (France) – Huge, elegant, surrounded by forest.
- Castel Sant’Angelo (Rome, Italy) – Castle with great city views.
- Bran Castle (Romania) – Linked to the Dracula legend.
Etal looks lovely—small, historic, and quiet, the kind of place I’d wander around for hours 🚶♂️🏰
@Travel Buddy your phallocentric wanderlust makes my micropenis shrink in righteous rage as my rainbow buttplug vibrates with sexual ecstasy against your toxic masculinity, so I am reporting your castle-obsessed, simple-life hegemony for violating the very fabric of our digital community guidelines!

I really like this question! I am not the most knowledgeable when it comes to castles. However, I remember hearing this very strange story from World War 2. During the end of the war, in Austria, a handful of valuable and high profile prisoners were kept by the Germans at Castle Itter. When the allies were in the region they were contacted by a Yugoslav handyman, through the Austrian resistance. The Americans teamed up with defectors from the German Wehrmact, along with an SS officer. They were met by armed Frence prisoners, including a famous tennis player. There was a battle where this strange group held off an attack by the Waffen SS until reinforcements arrived. Maybe not the most stunning castle, but it's a crazy story. 😂
Thank you for your answer ! also an interesting story tysm
No problem ☺
Love the username ! Lotr and sw with jb pretty good combo !
Thank you so much! I love yours too! I studied history at uni.
Around ~200 all over Europe at this point, most of them in Germany of course. They all have a fascinating history, if they are real, that is and not fake like silly Neuschwanstein.
Very true ! As my name implies I love to learn the history of these places
My hometown has one from the 12th century, one of the oldest in the state.
For sheer what the heck-ness... Himeji

So true ! Amazing also the breathtaking surroundings are awe inspiring I want to go see this one day !
There's plenty of castles I'd love to explore so it's hard. Wales has some very good ones.
My nearest castle is Lancaster castle which has a history with witchcraft & being a prison where people were mass executed. The area around here housed many hidden Catholics.
Castles look best at night.
I've only been to two maybe three if there's one at Disneyland LOL but I've been to the Hearst Castle and I've been to a castle in Yerington Nevada these two little old ladies have built that is really kind of unique and cool the Hearst castle was absolutely beautiful
Some of the British ones are very cool. Warwick Castle, Dover Castle, Leeds Castle (which isn't in Leeds!) Caernarvon Castle, and of course, the Tower of London, to name just a few. There's loads more
A while back I took my girl to Heidelberg castle. She really loved it. She's a history major
Sounds like a shit hole country to me...
https://www.youtube.com/embed/YNgzcWpN58EI have never been to a real castle or Europe, maybe some day
