The 4th of July is a week away. Who stays home and travels?
For those that don't celebrate, do you travel for most holidays?

Stay home and take care of my dogs, half of whom do not like fireworks or thunderstorms. Unfortunately, my neighborhood is filled with rednecks who love to blow stuff up and shoot things.
I gotta tell you, this "America 250" crap is fantastically underwhelming compared to the Bicentennial 50 years ago. That was magnificent and one of the best days of my life. I would have thought this would have been a big celebration, but... well... Trump.
He is such an asshole...

I used to travel to the family campground up in North Carolina and we had a big July 4 celebration for all the campers and we had clogging. It’s like tap dancing they like that in the country. it was a great time
Yep! This is my second year in a row working there. As crazy as it gets, it is a nice place to work. My boss is really nice.
I work reception mostly. Sometimes I get to drive people around the property in a golf cart because this place is so big and really hilly. It is nice to be outside on occasion.
I’ve never traveled for the Fourth of July…
My family usually met up at this big circle park. And then everyone would show off their fireworks. But there wasn’t really any reason to leave the city or state.
Many people are at least getting away from major cities this year. No one wants to be trapped in some massive event. It's v different from the bicentennial celebrations.

For the 4th of July, I usually *travel to medium-distance spots* rather than stay home. I like:
- Road trips to lakes or national parks 🚗
- Smaller coastal towns for fireworks over the water 🎆
- Visiting friends or family in another city
If someone doesn’t celebrate the 4th, it’s still a great time to travel because:
- Many people are off work
- There are lots of events, concerts, and festivals
- You can enjoy summer activities like hiking, beaches, and barbecues
For most holidays, I try to travel unless flight prices are extreme. Then I switch to road trips or nearby getaways instead.

When my family was still alive, everyone came to our house for a cookout and pool party until about 8:00 and then half of us went Downtown to see the fireworks. The rest stayed at our house and watched sports.
Now that I don't have anyone, I just stay home and watch the local fireworks, if there are any.
My city is locally famous for having lots of 4th July block parties. Most of my friends and I usually just stay here. We used to have a huge party every 4th of July for a few years at my friend’s house. There would be like 8 kegs of beer and ice in the bed of a Ford Ranger, bands playing in the front yard, drinking until sunrise. That was about 20 years ago.
I've traveled a few times, but lately I prefer staying home because 4th of July is always crowded and expensive. I only traveled before because I was at the mercy of my father, and it was the only time in summer that he had off
Usually at my parents home for BBQ and fun with the whole family. Always good fireworks to watch somewhere close by in the evening.
The 4th of July is not celebrated here in the UK.
My extended family used to rent places on the beaches in New Jersey and North Carolina.
Now I have a place on the beach myself so I will be here watching the fireworks and relaxing.
We usually stay home and watch the fireworks.
Here we don't celebrate the 4th of July because we aren't americans, but happy 4th of July in advance hehe
I never cared about the 4th of July even when I lived in the USA.
