Do you have a favorite road in your area you like to drive on?

There's a county highway by me that runs north-south and its always empty even during rush hour.

I've unofficially claimed it as mine.

Yes, there are some spots where the road goes along the lake. There is one particular stretch of it that is unusually long. Our lake was man-made almost 100 years ago by flooding a river valley and then damming it up.

The result was a waterline that is formed around the tops of big hills or smallish mountains. That creates coves of water all over. You don't want endless winding roads so they cut through. There is that one stretch I mention that is long and right beside the lake. It is beautiful at sunset.

If it weren’t for the TV show and the fact that we got our boat there, I would have never known about where you live.

Now that I have been there, albeit super short trip, I desperately want to go back. Coolest place ever.

Most people don't realize what it is like here. They are especially shocked at the wealth the first time. It is not something they think would be in the middle of nowhere.

Yes, there are some scenic ones around here that are pretty to drive on, especially in fall.

Even the nearly 4 hour drive home from school for a break is pretty in fall, and it is all highway.

There's a road a few hours north of me that leads to Lake Michigan and in the Fall it looks like a fantasy movie

I live on a Great Lake, but there are not a ton of roads right on the lake. We have a state park that juts out into that has 12 miles of road.

It is slow speed but pretty.

I love visiting state parks. Just wish I had time to go more often.

This one is special given it is a peninsula in a Great Lake. Canada, across from us,, also has some nice parks that are similar.

I very much like Pacific Coast Highway, and I also like Mulholland Drive, and I also like Kanan Road. They are all local to me. Sunset Drive is a beautiful trip from West Hollywood all the way to the beach.

You really should come and visit us. All the way from Santa Monica to the Oregon border the coast is an absolute beauty, almost like a painting and very mystical as well.

The easiest way to cross the Rockies is by using an airplane. I recommend Southwest Airlines as being cheap and reliable. If you are going to do it by car, make sure you do it before the winter. You don't want to mess around with the Rockies in the wintertime. I did that once when I was about 16 years old and almost got killed in the process. It's really a nasty drive. With the price of gasoline right now, flying is actually probably cheaper.

You could do that if you really wanted to. If you do, I'd really like to see photos from that flight you're going to take. When I did that crossing, I did it in early September one winter. The place where I got hung up is one of the highest places in the Rockies, called Rabbit Ears Pass. It's about 16,000 ft. above sea level, and I think it might be beautiful if you were to drive through it before the snow and the ice hit. That is where, were it not for a Colorado Highway Patrolman, I would have gotten myself killed. God bless that man.
