Taylor swift deserves to not be famous, she is nothing but terrible to the music industry and other people because without drama in her life she wouldn't be famous anymore.

Well, this is awkward. I don't think i'll ever get a girlfriend in the first place. Honestly this one depends on the situation. If we are in a club or some setting with some security i would tell the security or bouncer about it and have it handled that way. If not, I would confront him. I'd tell them point blank exactly what action or behavior they did that We, weren't comfortable with. Sometimes such a thing is also entirely accidental. If so, I'd let him know that he really upset her, and should be more careful about his behavior in public. If it was intentional, it would depend on the size of the guy. I've never been in a fight before.

I'd ask if she knew the guy's contact information and then direct her to the police, then be with her whenever she out if she wanted me to and we were both free.

If that's not good enough, I'd teach her some self defense and get her some pepper spray to hold her over until she became proficient. I trained in Martial Arts for 11 years, I could definitely teach her.

First of all, me believing my girlfriend wouldn't lead to anyone getting fired and losing their livelihood. If she tried to get the guy fired before her case was proved in a court of law, I'd think much less of her.

#metoo is about judging men in the court of public opinion while not judging women in the same manner. It has real life consequences for men and there should be protections in place to get people from getting fired based off accusations.

Well, your girlfriend isn't Taylor Swift, is she?

The issue is whether or not you would believe her. Or would you caution her to make sure first that what she said happen actually did happen?

And understand, again. . . this was a HR issue until David Mueller sued Swift. Swift did not bring a suit against him.

Trust but verify. If she's proven herself I'll trust her but I'll always want evidence when possible.

But you gotta understand that a lot of women are weaponizing the court system via false rape accusations as a way to "bring down the patriarchy." Most women won't do this but sjws are growing in number due to brainwashing from the progressive left. Classical liberals such as myself are finding more comfort in the right wing oddly enough than in the modern left..

It's so weird, since the right wing has basically been the devil to me for such a long time. Anti-abortion, anti-gay, anti-minimum wage.. it's madness! But nothing compared to the new left..

But fair enough.. David Mueller should have just let the issue die if that was an option for him. He should have known that a man's word will almost never win out vs a woman's.

You are telling me "I gotta understand".

I don't think you are realizing the context of our conversation. The women we know, the women we love. . .

they are women too. . .

So when you claim that women are weaponizing the court system and bringing down the patriarchy, what are you saying about the women in your life?

I agree that Taylor was wrong.

But I am not wearing a tinfoil hat with you complaining about feminism. I hope that the women in this thread can see that baseless charges can lead to horrible outcomes for men.

This guy grabbed her ass. We can see that. But it is hard not to see this was probably an accident.

Neither person said anything hopefully in the future that will change. And on the spot, he will say "Oh, I am sorry, that was too low".

Or she will say, "You grabbed my ass."

Problem solved in three seconds. No HR issues and no court case.

So if I'm tin-foiling, then you'll tell me that men's accusations against women carry the same weight.. right?

And you're talking to a guy who lives with a woman who was literally tortured and raped for close to a decade.. had her own mother invite men over to hurt and rape her.. kept her in a closet and fed her raw meat..

Back before I had her move in, she called me after being raped. The despair I felt..

You don't know the half of it.

You have made my thread into a front for your war against feminism and women. I don't have issues with feminism or with women in general. My point to creating this thread is that Swift could have approached this differently. She is a celebrity. She has power. She could get people fired by uttering a single word.

You have made this into some broader issue. I understand that women who are not superstar singers or actresses or CEOs or CFOs, etc. can be intimidated when it comes to raising these kinds of issues. They don't know where to turn or who to talk to.

      I understand that. You don't.

For you, your woman is the one exception. And you don't get that many women have boyfriends just like you. Or they have fathers, or sons, or male friends.

But somehow in your narrow description of this issue, you have forgotten that.

There's a difference between admitting an accident and admitting he was groping her. There's a vast difference in repercussions between an accident and groping. If memory serves, he was found guilty of this act of groping. He wasn't convicted for an accident, he was convicted of an intentional, sexual unwanted touching.

Not all criminal offenses warrant jail time, such as civil cases. Those are monetary more often than not, hence the 1$ award to Taylor for winning the trial.
No, never. I was saying what he did was illegal and not accidental. That if he admitted guilt for groping, that could adversely affect the outcome of his trial against Taylor Swift as well as his reputation.

      Reply
    • RolandCuthbert

Okay. . . civil cases are not criminal. That's the point. So you don't know what happened. Why didn't you just say that, so I could educate you since you didn't read my post?

Taylor complained to the station where they DJ worked that he grabbed her ass. The DJ tried to explain, that he did so on accident. The station did not believe him. They fired him. He brought a suit against Taylor Swift.

That is a civil suit, as I think you have observed.

Taylor Swift then responded with a counter suit. Again. . . civil.

So again. . . civil suits are not criminal suits. He was not convicted of a crime. He lost in a case seeking damages from Swift for lost wages.

So I hope that part is clear.

Now onto my point, if this was a criminal case, that would be perverse. Because you would lock up a man based upon a woman's sole interpretation of these events.

That is perverse, absurd and borderline insane.

      Thank you for the clarification.

As opposed to the judicial trend of believing me as opposed to girls? That happens a lot with sports players and rich kids. They get away with rape a fair amount because everyone is attacking what the girls did or didn't do. That is absurd and insane. Don t believe me? Google it for about 15 minutes.
If that happened a lot, I wouldn't feel the need to leave or even be concerned. I don't "accidentally" grope people, nor do I do anything without consent explicitly. This fear you think would happen is ludicrous.

I believe you. I understand that many women have felt violated and feel like men have gotten away with molestation and assault. I hear that loud and clear.

I just disagree that Swift's experience is in any way related to that of those women.

She could have people fired with just a look in their direction.

As for accidents, they happen. And I did grab my friend's ass. It was totally innocent.
