I'm not at all updated on the whole thing but if she continued to see him after the first incident the whole thing doesn't make any sense to me. She grew up in a time period where it was repeated over and over again is someone assaults you or does date rape tell the police and let them sort it out.

I don't think it is news that an older guy, who had money and prestige, had an affair with a younger woman, as any guy that age would have an inclination to do such.
