As a comparison, that's about 8 times the rate of road deaths... BEFORE seatbelts became a thing...

the past 75 years have been the most peaceful in all of human history, i think your generation doesn't know what death and suffering is. it angers me to the point i almost smile with glee when stuff like this happens so you spoiled brats can really get a glimpse of how the world actually works. i can't wait till the age of peace is finally over

While I do understand the feeling, I can't help but frown for that. Are you seriously saying you can find joy in people dying so that the newer generations can have a taste of "all that good stuff" that your own generation suffered?
Aside from the cruelty of that, don't you just wish for a better world for your kids? Why would you want newer generations to suffer as much as the previous ones?
But that is besides the point: in a country where there is no war or food shortage, that sort of death rate is enough to take a place in the "top 5 causes of death". So it seems sensible to treat it with just as much care. To not care (and act as if it doesn't exist) isn't that different then driving without a seatbelt, just feeling confident in your good airbag (e. g. your immune system and/or lack of other medical issues) and speeding to top it off. You may live, but can you say the same of the ones you hit on your way? Even the old guy with the rusty small car? Or you just don't care enough?

@Vencam if our lives are too good everyone will suffer, our society will crumble and be destroyed. a certain amount of suffering is needed to maintain strength. strength may not be needed at all times but it would be lethal to not have it when you do need it
