"Testing positive for COVID" is a poor phrase.
It doesn't mean you have the disease COVID-19 (Coronavirus Disease, discovered in 2019).
It means that you have the SARS-CoV-2 virus that causes COVID-19.
Vaccination is COMPLETELY IRRELEVANT to having the virus or not.
Vaccination is a way to prevent COVID-19 or to mitigate the effects of having the COVID-19 should you get the disease.
But, it is the acquisition of the SARS-CoV-2 virus that is the real issue.
To minimize the probability of getting or spreading the SARS-CoV-2 virus, practice:
1. Social distancing
2. Mask up
3. Wash and disinfect frequently.
The more often you do these things, the less likely you are to get or spread the SARS-CoV-19 virus and, thus, the less likely you are to get or cause others to have COVID-19.
>>> This is not rocket science people (I know, I did rocket science for a living 30 years ago). Stop being an idiot. And asking stupid ill-thought-out questions like this only spreads disinformation which is even more harmful than COVID-19.
>>> Grow the fuck up and STOP IT!
And let's add one thing - minimize exposure time with others. This was ignored when stores had "one way aisles". Sure - make me walk all they way down the right way to walk right back the next aisle to get something. Makes loads of sense - NOT! And if you are "quarantining" with family, that is increasing the odds that they will contract the Wuhan virus.
@belle_kai You can have a virus and not have a disease.
In your defense, the news media says the same thing you do because "Co - vid" is only 2 syllables and takes up less space than saying "is infected with SARS-CoV-2".
Look at the opinion/ thread by @loveslongnails
E. I never cared for that elephant eared jack ass.
Haha. It fits.
I don't find it strange because maybe he was hanging out in a place which have been already visited by an carrier before. Yes a person maybe fully vaccinated but we don't know whether the person is carrier or not. Maybe that corona virus is spreaded in their palace due to carriers and maybe he touched a place which had corona virus and is not cleaned thoroughly.
My nephew called Mr and yesterday and said he has COVID again. This is his second bout with this demon. He is fully vaccinated including the booster, and still, he contracted COVID again!!

Not strange as the vaccine doesn't prevent you from getting covid, it only prevents you from getting sever covid which it's not 100% effective at doing or there would be a few cases of vaccinated people dying from covid.
Ok, let's do a quick, basic explanation of how viruses work.
Covid is a virus. It mutates. All viruses mutate, evolve, adapt. When a virus jumps from an animal to human, it takes some time to adapt to its new host. Scientists early on believed this adaption would become more contagious and virulent, but it turns out that isn't the usual case according to many experts, including Dr. Mark Day, a nano researcher in the virus field. He states, I'm paraphrasing, ... the best thing for the organism is to spread more readily. So the basic rule is that viruses become more contagious, but less deadly. However, this takes time.
If you had Covid pre vaccine, then got vaxxed, it was based on the initial strain. Then you got the Delta variation, then Omicron, and it continues. Your initial vaccination offers some protection against the variants, and it's quite clear that those who were vaxxed and DO get a variant are far less likely to have severe cases, including hospitalizations.
Those who are anti-vax take great joy in pointing out "ha, they're vaxxed and they STILL got Covid" or "I know someone who was vaxxed, got Covid, and died anyway!" Yes, that's possible - possible, but much less likely. Getting into the "much less likely" category is what vaccines are about. Seasonal flu shots are a great example of that. It doesn't "guarantee" you won't get the flu, it just offers protection against known strains.
So to answer your question, no I'm not surprised when a person vaxxed against the original strain gets a 2nd, 3rd or 4th generation variant of it. What IS unusual is that they get extremely ill from it, but again, you're dealing with a virus and billions of individual immune systems and individual issues where everything you've ever done to your body comes into play.
No- why would it? Those shots DO NOT prevent you catching Covid. They DO NOT prevent you SPREADING Covid. The one and only thing they do is reduce symptoms. Symptoms, not even viral load (well, not appreciably, anyway), so you're actually MORE likely to spread it, since you're less likely to know you're sick.
Two hundred years from now, kids in history class are going to be looking back at the hysteria we've had over this disease and wondering how on Earth a people so well informed could be so panicky and stupid. Laugh at the Dutch over tulipomania? Well, they didn't have internet access in the seventeenth century; what's YOUR excuse going to be?
Nah, you go anywhere now the mask mandate has stopped and no one cares. Just left a motorway services (always a hotbed of infection due to people being from everywhere) and there was almost no one wearing a mask.
I am in favour of restrictions being lifted but common sense should dictate when mixing with lots of strangers, take precautions. I still wear a mask at the supermarket and similar places.
No. Not strange at all. The vaccine does not stop you getting Covid. Just helps stop it being bad and helps stop you passing it on. It prepares the immune system to fight an infection. Once prepared, the immune system does little until you have actually caught it.
It is not like some other vaccines, like measles, which work for life and prevent you getting it at all.
It still extends into the wider world through staff and friends.
@JamesCarrington Spin how you want.
The vaccines don't prevent your chances of catching the virus Paris. It merely reduces the risk of dying from it.
It doesn't even do that.
@dumbassmcgee Living up to your name I see :)
How does that work? You putz the face diaper on your face or else you getz the covid. And get vaxxed and triple quadrupled and still get hospitalized? You are supposed to "weed" out us sane people and not care.
@dumbassmcgee Do you smoke?
I do not.
I heard demtards talking out loud in a Walgreens, it was funny as hell, you are supposed to let us weed us "people" out.
@dumbassmcgee How come you don't smoke? I would have thought the prospect of you enhancing your chance of getting cancer would appeal based on your views on Covid!
What cigarettes? Vaping? Or weed? I don't do that stuff. Well, covid being so deadly and all, don't much care for the basement life, don't much care adverse effects to protect me from something that has 99.997% survival rate for my age group. Hmmm? Yeah, if you believe I'm 100 you believe Biden won the election.
I walked by my local chain store in a red county with free n95 masks available. The box was full.
@dumbassmcgee I never looked at your age, but perhaps you should be looking at the ages of your family.
Nope, there is no box of free crack pipes here, imagine that.
Open up them borders during the deadliest thing known to man kind. Said who? Libtards. Why not? Makes total sense.
@dumbassmcgee We will obviously never agree, so I'll tell you what... I'll do what it takes to keep those I care about safe. and you carry on using the force!
@TommyMountainFigure She is Okay so Far. xxoo
@Paris13 @TommyMountainFigure We all had 8 x already. Likely. I didn't hoard up in a drug dealers den and got shot either.
Not areal surprised, If he has been exposed to Covid previously it is of no surprise that he's tested positive for it now, as the natural occurring antibodies are approximately 6x to 10x more effective than antibodies from any of the current vaccines the tests could be giving a positive reaction to those antibodies and doesn't necessarily mean he has been re-infected with Covid.
Not strange at all. A significant number of vaccinated people are getting COVID, and Prince Charles makes many appearances to groups of people, which means he has a high probability of being exposed to the coronavirus.
Per your update, it makes sense that Camilla would test positive too. Maybe Camilla got it first and gave it to Charles?
I don't find this strange at all. He might be part of the "Royal Family" but he's a human being. All human beings who are alive now are at risk of getting sick with Covid.
Besides vaccines are not 100% effective, no vaccine is (for Covid or other diseases) so there's always a chance of getting the virus.
Yes, isn't it all rather odd that the only ones who seem to "test positive" are those who have been double-vaxxed. It's almost as though the vaccines don't actually work. Funny about that.
Maybe it has to do with all the inbreeding that royalty has done in the last few hundred years.
Why should it surprise me. He's only human. How is he any better than any of us, just because we choose to believe that he needs to be showered in accolades.
Yeah plenty people have had it twice.
Whats the latest death rate in the US?
has it 900k yet?
Has any told you to Fauch off?
Not strange at all everyone vaxxed will catch Covid -19 .. the issue is the problems behind these jabs.. I won’t touch anyone vaxxed at this point with a 9 foot pole
Charles is Acting Queen (stop sniggering at the back) so he has to meet all kinds of people who are undoubtedly swimming with disease. So no, it doesn't surprise me at all.
Paris do you live under a rock? Lots of people with the vaccine still get it.
It’s still happens to some people I guess it depends on their immunity
I’ve seen it happen in one family already, everybody was vaccinated and they all still got sick one by one
I guess it was only a matter of time
I find it very strange indeed even though I don't care about it
I suggest you get a job in a Covid ward in a hospital without PPE. Then you will discover it isn't fake when you become a patient.
No, not strange at all. Vaccinated people get sick too. Unfortunately…
No, I'm not surprised. Anyone can get covid, even vaccinated people.
Every single human on the planet has had covid by now. The "vaccine" that doesn't vaccinate only helps with the symptoms to a point and that is it. A good and strong immunity system and lots of vitamin D helps. Covid is nowhere near as deadly as the media makes it out to be. It is contagious however.
Still trolling my comments I see, @dumbassmcgee... What is it that bothers you this time? The Holocaust part or the COVID 19 global casualty numbers part?
https://covid19.who.int/
Yup, the WHO. If it were that deadly we'd have a conundrum on our hands, seeing as being a Jew in German Hitler era almost guaranteed death, you have a 98% to 99.9% survival rate. Said no one as they entered a gas chamber. The truth is in front of your eyes, and you are all oblivious.
Dumbass is the truth. So if the WHO, which has its faults but is the leading international (no, not just American like the CDC) organisation on Health is a problem, you can verify the number from sources around the World. It's bordering on 5.8 million dead by COVID-19 and that is a conservative estimate.
In November 2021 the Economist wrote it could be as much as 16 million when the official numbers were only 4.8 million.
99.9 survival rate? Do the math, mr. mcgee: 407 million infected. Almost 6 million deaths, at least. That is not 0.01%. And the ones that do survive don't all get as well as before.
Just stop trolling my comments with stupid propaganda. Consider this my Troll Alert.
Well, the science told us that vaccination is 100% effective so Prince Charles is obviously anti-science if he still caught Covid. He should’ve trusted the science more.
vaccines are a farse... Leftists trying to control everyone and change the social order...
They are no different than the rest of us many people have had it even ex-presidents
It surprised me to find out he got it *again*, but he'll most likely survive so... no conspiracy hehe
Perhaps it is the universe trying to stop him and dogface from becoming king and queen consort.
it happens... don't really care that much... he can die after he loses the lawsuit.
Nah he's only human after all as Rag n Boneman says
No, since it has been proven ineffective I’m not surprised
Try to imagine how little I care.
Stranger things have happened...
No its happening more often
I am vaccinated and I have had it twice too
No it happens
I did not understand, Paris!
Nope everyone is getting it
Can get covid easily after vax, wake up
A bit half and half.
Inbreeding is weird.
Seems accurate.
