While it's good that Amber Heard lost, I think we owe it to her for helping society realize that the hashtag #BelieveAllWomen, which spawned shortly after #MeToo, is dogmatic and innately flawed. She exploited the movement to her advantage and we all know why she chose to do that. We hear it in the audio recording where she challenges Depp to report her, being a man and she a woman. I think every woman knows just how much power they have, but they aren't usually going to admit it as then that'll relinquish their ability to claim they are lacking privilege and are still oppressed in westernized cultures.
Johnny Depp was in this mess precisely because Amber Heard, as a woman, is given sympathy by society due to this double standard which exists wherein women are deemed deserving of protection while a man's behavior is viewed as ad inevitable or biologically determined, or basically, he is inherently predatory and evil just because of his gender. This stereotype only served to help Heard while effectively cancelling Depp, and it turned out he was the victim the entire time. Back in 2016 when she first made her accusations, the thought of Depp abusing Heard seemed believable even without sufficient evidence, simply because he's male and she is female. This is a dumb narrative that needs to stop before it does turn into a cultural thought pattern.
The amount of people who once supported Amber Heard's false accusations, who we then saw backpedaling to support Johnny Depp once he was able to prove himself innocent, was laughable. Because while he deserved the support, it still proves that people, namely men, are guilty in the view of public opinion until they can prove themselves innocent. We need to return to the "innocent until proven guilty" system, and that starts with people unlearning their biases and prejudice and looking at all the facts before immediately condemning someone.
And Depp was fortunate, because he has the wealth and the resources to prove himself innocent. Most men would not be able to prove their ex-wife abused and defamed him, and she'd get away with ruining his social life and ending his career. I know of some family law and criminal defense attorneys who can share more than a few stories of men suffering from a woman's false accusations. People like to say "FalSe aCcUsAtiOns aRe rARe!" but I think it's more that society is not ready to talk about the possibility that perhaps false accusations, as well as violence towards men, and even misandry, is more common than we think. Misandry itself is so socially tolerable that it goes completely unnoticed to the point that it seems nonexistent. But you can see it all over Facebook and Twitter, to name just two social media platforms where that type of hatred is acceptable.
My thoughts are that the outcome of the trial is good but the entire dramatic spectacle, from beginning to end, revealed a lot of issues between men and women that nobody really wants to talk about. These issues still persist even with Depp's triumph. Johnny Depp's victory, unfortunately, is not going to help other male victims until the way men and women are treated is more equalized.
People in the replies have brought up feminism a few times. I saw a lot of feminists supporting Amber Heard, while I saw many other feminists supporting Johnny Depp. If feminists actually do care about men, contrary to what many other people believe is not the truth, then their lectures need to start including men in on the conversation. Historically, feminism has never been about men. Or even transgendered peoples. And this lack of inclusivity, speaking for men, has them feeling abandoned and insignificant. It's not going to be good for the health of society if men lack confidence.

I get irritated with celebrity gossip. Also this was a civil case not a criminal case. It just involved already rich people fighting over money and Hollywood career opportunities.
However this was a perfect example of how #metoo was weaponized and abused to give shitty sociopathic women special advantages particularly when it comes to attacking innocent (or at least semi innocent) men.
I call Johnny Deppe “semi innocent” because he obviously no saint. He’s got serious drug, alcohol and anger issues. I’m sure he did some crappy things during his marriage with Amber Heard. But for Amber to use #metoo as an opportunity to grossly mischaracterize him, gaslight him (when Amber initiated most the abuse) and take advantage of the liberal media to further her own financial gain and career goals is PRECISELY what so many people warned about back in 2018 during the #metoo witch hunt phase. While there are piece of shit men out there like Harvey Weinstein (who had it coming times 100) there are without a doubt shitty sociopathic opportunistic women.
If modern feminists want real change they need to call out shitty women. But most of them don’t. Why can’t they? What I've seen - admittedly not much - of the trial seemed to show Depp as a guy who's acknowledged his own flaws, but spousal abuse isn't one of them.
Heard's video "evidence" actually looked to me like it backed his side not hers. Her responses appeared rehearsed and poorly executed and occasionally like she wanted her lawyer to say "cut - can we do that again" while Depp's felt natural and his eyes were engaged, showing more subconscious reactions.
I've seen several celebrity trials over the years involving women or children claiming abuse that were proven to be false accusations. I questioned the Bill Cosby stuff at first but it proved alarmingly accurate. In the UK the case against Jimmy Savile was airtight and saw one of my childhood heroes destroyed while the case against Sir Cliff Richard was obviously false from the outset. This felt like Heard was trying to jump on the "metoo" bandwagon while actually Depp was more of a victim in this case.
She was abusive in her female-female relationship before Jonny Depp... not a Hollywood secret that nobody likes working with her as well... it played out just like I thought it would. I really think she was just trying to play into the #metoo stuff and set actual victims back. Basically a track history of not being all that great in relationships, you can see the cringe other movies stars are feeling in interviews, and she's overplayed that feminism card for a long while... I see it as a sign of hope that society is finally ready to begin moving past the default view of gender issues where women are always seen as the victims and men as the perpetrators. I believe this verdict is a direct reflection of the backlash against the "believe all women" bullshit that came out of the MeToo movement, and against modern feminism in general.
Since the verdict was announced yesterday I have read a lot of articles by, and comments from feminists who view the verdict as a "setback for women everywhere", a clear symptom of the gynocentric nature of modern feminism. Anyone who thinks feminism stands for equality, as it claims, if a fool.

The portion of her case that she won was because Depp's attorney called her accusations fraudulent in public - there was no credible evidence that Johnny abused Amber and those portions of her case lost. It's important to make that distinction - the jury found that the only physically abusive person was Amber.
I only saw a very small amount of it but the impression I got is that Amber Heard probably has BPD / bipolar something like that and I find it very surprising that even though both people are not just rich but involved in business where you would think it would be in the industries interest to try to make sure that their stars were stable and yet the problems that she has have gone completely unaddressed?

I did find out that if she is charged and refuses to go answer the charge it is likely the US will in fact extradite her. The US has a good relationship with Australia. We will see.
