I bought a couple for Tuesday's drawing. I will buy more for Friday's. Over a billion? Why not? My state has had numerous mega millions jackpot winners. Just for today's, we had a million dollar winner (they matched all 5 numbers, but not the bonus ball).

I will give it a chance. You never know!

I would take the lump sum because I know enough to invest it
once you pass 10million the systems really doesn't change

Sure I'll buy one. I don't really think of what I'd do with it because I'm 100% certian I won't win. Suffice it to say I wouldn't really care if I got it all at once or over time. Even if taxed at 99% it's still 10 million left over.

The multi payout is a bad idea because you put yourself at risk of hyperinflation.

Meaning high inflation eating it away. You can mitigate that danger to a large extent with making good investments with the lump sum.
