Personally if I had millions in the bank I can't imagine demanding my father to support my lifestyle and choices financially with my partner if I was middle aged like Harry and Meghan. Nor could I sell out my family or inlaws with controversial stories to earn a pound. All seems very grubby of them. Obviously as an Irish Republican I don't support the British monarchy.

King Charles has actually got quite a few powers, not just in the uk but also as the head of state of Canada, Australia and New Zealand. The Royals are very careful about using their power, they rarely use it and if they do its subtle almost unspoken.
King Charles and Prince William have the power the veto bills and new laws being brought to parliament. The leader of the elected party of the UK, Canada, Australia and New Zealand have to ask permission of King Charles to form a government and he has the power to dismiss these governments.
A QC once explained to me that ever since William the conquerors invaded England in 1066 every law and institution is there to maintain the postion of the Royal family.
Huge power Huge wealth. Possibly the richest people on the planet depending how you measure wealth.

That said, if it isn't public why are we even talking about it. The original premise is that everything in politics is staged. As though the issues between the royals is not legit.

And that I simply do not believe. I think it is pretty evident Harry believes he will never be a fully functioning royal. And William/Charles are okay with that.

Even in the Republic of Ireland where my parents live if a huge resource of oil or gas or coal was discovered under my parents house they would have no rights to it nor would the Irish government, but who would have the rights to it is the Lord who used to own the land previous to 1921.
