I don’t think so. I think it’s a violation of international law to do so for starters. More importantly they’re violating our sovereignty and lastly we should be sending the message this won’t be tolerated.


I think they are just testing us to see how we respond. I’m sure China has satellites with about the same capabilities we do. They can read newspapers on the streets with them. So I’m sure they can see most anything they want.


What would be the justification for the balloons? They don’t know what the weather is here? They don’t know what the topography is in a given area? Like they don’t have internet access and can’t acquire that kind of info, necessitating violating our air space. I think this is clearly button pushing on their part, trying to see how we’ll respond.

There's no reason for anyone's surveillance to be in another country's air space without that country's specific permission. As for TikTok, their entire data gathering process is filtered by a US security firm based in Texas. All this bullshit about the Chinese gathering intelligence is a joke. Facebook and Instagram know more about your habits, purchases and ideology than TikTok ever will.

TikTok is not even a threat to influence voters because their trolls are so freaking obvious. The biggest threat to the USA is that individual creators are posting the TRUTH about everything from local, small town government actions to school boards, state and federal government bills, Congressional acts, bribery, corruption in all kinds of places, etc., - that's what the powers that be are concerned with. Too much truth is no good for the masses.
