Strip back the other insulation about one inch back

How many wires do you see now?

2, 3 or more

Basically, just color match each wire. Strip the insulation of each color and attach to that matching color. Now you can use wire nuts, solder or tape if your poor. I would use solder and wire nuts then the tape on the ends. I would use all.

Now that how to fix the cord in the middle. But what about fixing it at the base of the plug.

Well that's basically the same thing, just a little more of a pain in the ass.

The best way to deal with plug end is see if you can find a replacement cord

But if you can't find a replacement cord, you can do a replacement plug and wire it up
