Today August 6th is the 78th anniversary of the atomic bombing of Hiroshima. Around 140,000 people would die as a result of this bombing.

Historians estimate the bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki saved the lives of 2 million American soldiers. It prevented us from having us to invade the Japanese mainland and shortened the war significantly.

Could you have made the decision to end the lives of 140,000 innocent people to save the lives of perhaps a million Americans?

Personally I think we made the right call

it was bombed guy for no other reason than to test the bomb. The reason given was made up to avoid public outrage but has long been discredited. Japan was already defeated a simple blockade would have sufficed.

Absolutely we made the right decision for more reasons than one. Not only did it save a lot of American lives. But since the world got to see the actual effects of an atomic bomb it probably has prevented it from happening again. On a much larger scale. It showed that we can't allow this genie out of the bottle ever again.
