The issue isn't where the meat comes from in terms of species. It's that certain species aren't acceptable to Western societies.

India has no beef industry because cows are sacred in their culture. France has no problem with eating horses, frogs and snails. The middle east in general don't raise pork and the beef has to be slaughtered in a specific way that to Western societies seems barbaric.

Every culture on earth has a source of meat that offends somebody - usually a European. South America have monkeys on the menu. South Africa has bags of chicken heads and feet in the supermarket.

The Orient eat canine and feline products. So what?

Think about the movie "Demolition Man" where Stallone's character buys a burger that turns out to be rat meat - ok, fictional - or "The Patriot" where the revolutionary soldiers are discussing eating the British general's Great Danes because there's a lot of good meat on a dog.

Native Americans - and some European hunters - eat bear meat.

If we're going to survive as a species we have to consider anything as a potential meat source. The WEF want us to eat insects. We may have to resort to unconventional sources of protein in the future if they keep seizing power. Although I'm not sure I want to go that far myself. Most of the members of the WEF are too old for their meat to be appetising, but I'd still rather eat them than insects...

Maybe they should have gradually implemented this, would not have met with such out rage, it's a whole industry that's being eliminated and loss of life of jobs, bet the word had spread already with the dogs hiding out, probably have a parade t the dogs I mean

Eating dogs isn't the problem. The problem is it's impossible to humanely farm dogs due to their nature. Then there's the issue of correct slaughter, it's doubtful its done to western standards.

The ban will stop mass production but it'll still go on illegally and under worse conditions.

A lot of countries eat dogs and cats, including Vietnam. I guess you don't want to be name Fido or Muffy in those countries.

I can't imagine, eating what I consider a domesticated animal. I struggle with making the decision to reduce my animal and intake for a variety of reasons: my own health, and the conditions in which the animals are raised and harvested are the main reasons.
