Is it wrong that I don't care about the California wildfires?

Honestly I'm sick of hearing about the wildfires. I do feel bad about the people and animals that died but other than that I don't really care and don't want to hear about it. What also confuses me us some people are canceling plans over this. If you live in California, I understand canceling plans. But if you don't, why would you? However I'm wondering if not caring about it makes me rudest person alive.

Sentiments the same and I sort of wonder sometimes, in my life of 30 years this far, "hmm, how come some news stories are seemingly promoted for weeks on end, and other news stories, barely get 1 or 2 nights mention"

Its just something I think 💬 I've noticed about the news. Some stories, get promoted

Over seemingly others, and often it's like, why or why the difference in "promotion" or "devotion to air time given" it's just odd. And then some stories disappear from news altogether, never even repeated again aka "like court news, or seemingly big stories, with potential for follow up, then are never followed up yet they say it all like you know" I don't know sigh 😔😞

When you are not directly affected nor able to do anything about something. I can understand your feelings about the wildfires.
I am actually getting tired of seeing the same burnt out cars and buildings several times a day.

The news reports every big story to death. They did the Jimmy Carter funeral then the minute it was done they switched to the fires and as soon as the inauguration starts up it will be that.

People are really getting pressured to say they "care" so they are not called "psychopath for lacking empathy" but that just means lacking empathy when should feel empathy, not about strangers.

A healthy person won't feel for a stranger. An honest person won't pretend they care.
