I've been waiting for this moment lol. When the announcement came that he's pausing the tariffs I'm putting a bunch of money into swiss stock, now that they're undervalued because of the whole crash it's the perfect time to buy in. I don't know how things will turn out in the future but I think it's still too good of a chance to pass up. Did you buy stocks when the tides turned?

Yes. I sold most of my stocks in the last 2 months. The market peaked in December and has been in a show steady decline. You don't need to buy and hold stocks, you can short stocks where you sell first and buy back at a later date. It doesn't matter if the market goes up or down but you make way more shorting. This is only a 3 month break from tariffs and it's going to go back down. The average bear market is 18-36 months and we're entering our 4th month of a bear market. We're nowhere near the bottom. That being said, there is always money to be made in the markets. But don't follow advice here, educate yourself

Well I don't know the swiss economy is solid. The drop was only created because of Trumps drama. We'll see. I can sell again if I feel like he's going crazy again. I know I could short but options are risky and I'm gonna take it easy for now. I haven't been investing mostly saving so I won't go all in. I saw the drop coming on April second if I was investing for a long time I would have bought puts but I'll just go slow.

Short selling stocks is selling stocks held by your brokerage and buying the stock back at a later date to replace the ones you "borrowed".

If your trading options consider credit spreads. It's safer and minimizes risk. Practice with a paper account first before using your own money.

I really do not plan on buying stocks or maybe I will buy something in the energy sector like Exxon/Mobil stock.

Thr best thing I did was buy stock after 9/11 happened and the stock market was closed for a week. I bought some stock in the company I was currently working for. I knew it would turn around and I think I doubled my money in less than a year. I did not have much money to invest because my kids were in college but I wish I bought more.

We have some… but mostly invested in different things. Bonds, CDs.
I started in real estate at a young age. And also teacher our kids to do the same. So we are in a good place.
