Why does the SAVE Act prevent married women from voting?

Democrats have come out to say that married women will not be able to vote. My wife is a married woman and she told me that all she had to do is bring her birth certificate to town hall to register to vote. This is the same exact process that i went through to register to vote and I am not a married woman. I don't see what the problem is. In fact if you have a Real ID you do not even need a birth certificate.

Democrats don't want restrictions on who votes, so they create issues. Technically speaking, it is possible that married Mary Johnson, born as Mary Smith, could have a problem if all she has is her Mary Smith birth certificate, but proving her name changed by showing a marriage certificate would resolve tgst. And as you said, a RealID drivers license works just fine.

Well, I know this is a tough sell to you, lmao, but there was never a legitimate problem with voter fraud issues to begin with, so these ID policies and the like are all efforts to fix a non-existent problem, with the collateral-but-intended impact of certain demographics facing additional hardships (largely based around getting rides, living far away from offices to get IDs, etc…but the fact of the matter is that the Constitution provides for all Americans to have the right to vote, so you should be able to just roll out of bed on Election Day with no prior planning and vote regardless, no matter how irresponsible you or I may think that person is. The Constitution has provisions for eligibility, but valid ID was never one of them, and — I can’t stress this enough — THERE IS NO SIGNIFICANT PROBLEM WITH PEOPLE VOTING AS SOMEONE ELSE. Like it’s just not really a thing, we’re probably only talking in the dozens.

The worry in this case is newly married women or newly divorced women not being able to vote…. and again, honoring the Constitutional right is the focus, not punishing people for not having their life together. Even the irresponsible get a vote.

the constitution does specify that only American citizens can vote. This means there needs to be a mechanism to insure that illegal aliens cannot vote.
In the state I live in the legislature voted to give illegal aliens drivers licenses. The Sec of State goes on TV and says that to vote all you need is a drivers license. Can you connect the dots from there?
Elon Musk has discovered 5 million illegal aliens with Social Security cards. Many were also collecting benefits which democrats say is impossible. It is not hard to get a drivers license or sign up for welfare if you have a Social Security card. It is not hard to imagine them all voting , especially if the democrats say that Trump will send them back.

I just took my dad to get his license renewed. And he can’t drive but they still gave it to him, which is another issue, lmao, but the point was we had to drive an hour away to get him his ID. Around here, maybe there are options. And he’s fortunate he has a young relative to help him. And if he was in Mayberry, South Carolina, there’s no way he’s getting to Charleston if he’s by himself. That’s the point. And he’d not be able to vote in some local elections next month if he’s required to ID himself. And he’d vote your way, haha.

The point is that all this hoop jumping is unnecessary because it’s not a real problem. You’ve apparently been disinformed otherwise, but let’s not waste our Friday night going in circles about it. But undocumented people have no way to vote in federal elections or collect any sort of federal benefits, other than some emergency aid that they can get I believe just at the state level. The truth is that nobody really knows for sure whether or not there was voter fraud in the 2020 election. there was plenty of evidence that suggested it but covid and the democrats created so much chaos and confusion it was almost impossible to tell if a ballot was real or not once it ended up in the ballot box. There were many inconsistencies , for example multiple districts that had more ballots than there were registered voters and districts that had never voted democrat in the last century suddenly voting democrat. Many ballots that just had the presidential election filled out , leaving the down ballot contests blank. Naturally all these ballots voted for Biden. Statistically the odds of that happening is basically zero.
In the state that I live in illegal aliens can get drivers licenses. It was suggested that there should be a designation on the license that indicated that the were non citizens. The democrat legislature refused to even consider it. They want a system where there is no way to check if a person is or is not a citizen. Then they create a system where all you need is a drivers license to register to vote. After the election is over it will be impossible to determine if there is or is not voter fraud.
The democrats create a system where it is easy to cheat and impossible to find out about it.
There are 20 million illegal aliens that have streamed into the country over the last 4 years. It is not out of the question that they could be resettled into areas where they could easily change the results of an election.

I mean, we could say that about any year’s election. The point is that the only supposed evidence I’ve ever heard of being presented comes from pro-MAGA people, and none of it ever was confirmed in a court of law, and that’s all I really care about in terms of determining factuality. It’s also not lost on me that Trump is a narcissistic lunatic who probably just couldn’t handle the embarrassment of losing. So he has every incentive to muddy the waters, if for no other reason than to protect his fragile ego.

We haven’t had to present ID to vote for as long as I can remember, but we’ve never had any true problems. Just the sheer amount of people who would need to be in on the scam for it to have any meaningful impact makes it nearly impossible to carry out. And do you really think some guy who probably barely speaks English is walking into the polling center and saying “Jessss, aye ahm eh-John eh-Jablonski de nueve —ehhhhhh, I meannnnn— from NINE eh-Seaver eh-Street”, and no one would get caught? Think about it. Like there’s already no existing problem of people showing up and learning someone already voted in their name. Again, maybe dozens of cases of that, tops.

As for the driver’s licenses….. you’re a computer guy. You know there are all kinds of databases, and in the year of our Lord 2025, there is ZERO chance that a driver’s license doesn’t qualify as proof of citizenship, and there’s no way they’d be able to use that to register to vote, maybe beyond municipal or state elections. Federal stuff, zero shot. Just not going to happen after the age of hand-written and human-kept records.

You guys are always showing maps of how red most of America is, yet the fix is always in for Dems, to have you guys tell it. Are you guys just inept at preventing it? And you always are calling Democrats incompetent, yet in this instance, they’re conveniently diabolical masters of deception? It can’t be both, so which is it?

@exitseven I know what you're trying to say, and agree with it in principle, but the word "citizen" is only mentioned in the 14th amendment and Article IV Section 2, and neither of those sections talk about voting rights. Further, nowhere does the Constitution define what a citizen is, which essentially leaves it up to the individual states to define it.

Interestingly, the 10-year census, required by Article I, section 2, requires the counting of "residents", not citizens, to be used to allocate Congressional seats.
