Are you already dreading the end of summer?

I saw a large display of Halloween candy at the supermarket. The back to school stuff has been in the stores for weeks already. I am starting to get depressed.

It will be here before we know it.

I live where it's hot and dry in the summer. It ranges from the high 80s to 100 every day. We've been lucky and haven't had an 110 spells, but a few of those wouldn't be unusual.
We use more electricity in order to keep the house cool. And we run our drip irrigation more, which causes our well pump to run more often, and that uses a lot of electricity.

I like spring and fall weather around here. I'm looking forward to the beginning of fall.
And we live below the snow line, so don't have to deal with snow or blizzards in winter.

Summer was great when I was a kid because of the break from school. We lived near the Pacific Ocean, so went to the beach a lot. We also went camping in the mountains. I didn't mind the heat. In fact, I didn't even think about it.
But as an adult, I could vacation and travel any time of year.

Lol in South Texas there was no autumn, just Summer part 2. Winter was the closest you got to "autumn". I remember being able to swim in December with temps being in the 80s one year. It rarely ever snowed either and the years it did snow it shut down the city.

Back to school stuff makes sense cause it's almost time for some schools to go back. I know in my kids case, they go back July 30th. It seems to get earlier and earlier every year with more breaks during the school year for them. What doesn't make sense is Halloween or Christmas stuff being put already.

As for summer ending, I'm mixed. On one hand it means the kids go back to school which is nice. Also, the end of summer means I get a birthday party and presents which is also nice. On the other hand, it means winter is approaching and where I live now actually gets snow so that's not so great. I tend to like the heat anyway.

It's that global warming. I'm experiencing the coolest summer that I can recall in Texas. The highest has been around 94-95⁰. With most nights about 70⁰F. Nights in July are usually 86-88⁰F. Knock on wood though with August coming!

If you lived in South Carolina you might not be dreading it ending. It's hot as Hades here. Summer is nice but I'm ready for the Fall weather and Halloween. At my job, we get 4 hours of PTO on Halloween which is a Friday this year and it's a payday. Yes, bring on Halloween lol

Traveling Europe, people are relaxing, vacationing including Canadians, French, Swiss. They are enjoying life, eating good food, haivng a drink, strolling streets... there is no sign of all that crap.

If you've never been to Europe, then you don't know what flavors exist when you grow things properly... watermelon, cheeses, etc..

Tell your wife you are buying tickets, they are cheap, and see you next week...

Every year I would leave for the whole summer go to the family campground In the mountains, we had everything so many things to do so much fun. it was good to get away from school. And school wouldn’t start until after the Jerry Lewis Telethon after labor Day
