Why are California gas prices higher now under Trump than they were under Biden?

WTI crude oil was $118.87 per barrel on June 3, 2022 under Biden, at this very second WTI is $89.58 per barrel under Trump and a couple days ago it dipped to just over $79 per barrel. It could easily be at $62 a barrel before the end of the year which is almost half price compared to Biden. Oil is much cheaper under Trump even with war and production is out pacing demand. The problem for California is that your government hate you and wants to control you, so they increased regulations on refineries, which forced California to import a lot of their refined fuels from other countries like The Bahamas for example which is rather hilarious given that Marathon, Checron, Valero, and many other refineries are already in your state. Thus when you import that refined fuel you have to pay tariffs on it due to your own state government's incompetence and if that wasn't enough, California raised taxes on fuel as well. Talk about a bunch of fucking retards. While states like Florida gave our citizens fuel tax holidays to deal with Biden's ridiculous oil prices, California decided to tax their citizens harder and force them to import fuel rather than use their own refiners so that they would get hit with tariffs. The California government wants their residents to suffer, and their residents enjoy the pain because they keep voting for it. It's the same thing they do with water. California has plenty of water, but the government creates a shortage because it gives them more control over people's lives and for Democrats it's all about the power, not the results or quality of life.

It will go up because there is a lag and people tin the industry say OIL will be used up by the end of May if war continues.

We've already had 2 rain showers (10-20% reduction in price from recent high) in the crude oil market and there is a downward trend. Production is going up faster than demand. Oil will trend lower. Even a war can't stop it.

well if CA gas was already 5 dollars a gallon I would think with their taxes rising like everybody else's and now the war this is the outcome

i thought california had some sort of EV mandate or something? it was that or a huge tax write off? whatever it was, i thought most californians drove EV's.

that really sucks. but i'm sure the public transportation is good? i think the poor people that couldn't afford an EV are congested and confined to small areas. it's not spread out even though the state is blue. i wonder if they jacked up the Electricity for the EV's?

California gas tax is the highest in the country. Gas was over 5 bucks a gallon a couple of months ago when it was under 3 bucks in most of the country and less than 2 bucks is a few areas.
