You realize during Obama/Biden oil prices were above $90 a barrel from December of 2010 to September of 2014 with a peak of $128.14 per barrel in March of 2012 right? That is 3 years and 10 months straight of these sorts of oil prices or worse with no relief. Then Biden got a second stab at it with Obama in the background with the auto pen slamming America with those $90-100+ a barrel prices from Jan 2022 to August of 2022 for another 10 months with an additional 8 months of $80ish a barrel prices. We then got a two month break in the $70s before spiking back into the $80s and $90s for 4 more months. Then we got like $70s for like 4 months and then another 4 more months of $80s, then the election was rolling around and it started to drop back into the $70s. You can't really do worse than the Obama/Biden record. They take the cake in this millennia.

Break even price for WTI in the Permian Basin to continue production is $62 and they need some profitability to encourage new well development so a price around $69-74 allows America to continue peak levels of production of oil. The forecast isn't too far off of that by Q3-Q4 of this year.

At the very least Russia is earning money on this. So that's an upside for them.

However US petroleum and food exports will likely be restricted bebore midterm elections to control prices.

Some third world countries without oil that import food will be hit most especially if we get a super el nino too.

The global food supply can handle two considerable disruptions but not three at once.

When Biden was president gas prices hit 5.15 where I live but I think a few states like California had it pretty close to ten bucks
