What's there to be surprised about? Aliens have been here for millions of years. They created us!
They were already making deals with us back in the `50's. Look up Project Serpo. A dozen of us were taken to their planet to live for a coupler years. one or two died on they way there, at least 2 decided to stay there and a couple more either died there or on the way back.
So far, the only new stuff I'm seeing is the kinds of ship they use that I've never seen before.
