I've been to Lebanon for an extended period of time as well as most of the rest of the Middle East at various points for work. I also grew up in an end-of-days Christian sect. Here is something that rarely seems to get talked about: There is a powerful element of the Israeli government and an influential group within Conservative Judaism that believes that in order to finally rebuild the Temple, all of the former lands of Israel and Judah must be returned to Israel, although not all Jews or Israelis subscribe to this and certainly many are against it. Part of that former land was bordered to the north by the River Litani, now in Lebanon. An overlapping faction in North American Christianity believes the biblical Israel must be in place once again before Christ can return. These two groups will never, ever stop working towards that goal. Make no mistake, they can dress it up as counterterrorism or security or peacekeeping or whatever: for them this the same Holy War that it has been for thousands of years. From the perspective of both sides in a sense, there are also elements of Hezbollah or whatever factions that don't believe there is any way to reconcile a peace with anyone that isn't their branch of Islam (something that actually goes against a teaching of Islam), and will never accept a Jewish land in or adjacent to the Arab world. The short version: This will never end because it is an irreconcilable conflict of the three Abrahamic religions based on tenets that are core to the religions themselves. Unfortunately.

* You assume "religion" is created by the Deity itself, and because of that, it is pure and contains no contamination. That's incorrect.

And there is a good amount of truth to that, however, the doctrines themselves are the source of radicalism, confusion and massive amounts of interpretation. There are over 20,000 sects of Christianity alone.

Both major world religions instruct their followers to proselytize. The degree to which that's enforced, and what happens if you don't acquiesce, depends on the powers at the time. Therefore, I submit your analysis is flawed.

I won't disagree that "Americans" seem to lack critical analysis skills - just look at their President. But it's ironic that you profess religion is being gaslighted to the absolute DEGREE you believe it is. Your example of money not being evil, but the LOVE of money being evil, only goes so far. The irony is: Most of Lebanon outside of Hezbollah and a few close supporters actually hate the Iranian islamist regime and are big fans of the west, mainly the US.
And it’s not even a religious thing, many Muslims don’t approve of Hezbollah as well.

If you count the money already spent on rockets and bombs to destroy these hezbollah strongholds it’s a fortune and it keeps increasing.


All the US had to do was politically back Hezbollah’s opposition and provide a fraction of these funds to economically insulate these people EXACTLY like Iran did by funding Hezbollah for decades.
Then the wheels of justice would have tuned just long enough to dislodge their hold on the region.


They were allowed to grow so big and bold because they went unopposed for far too long and now the problem is being solved with bombs which is inefficient and beyond expensive.

If you’re Lebanese, this is your war too, not just Hezbollah’s. Because Israel has killed thousands of Lebanese civilians and destroyed their homes. And many Israeli ministers have even called for it. So who stopped the killing of Lebanese civilians? Iran. Iran made a deal and also made a ceasefire in Lebanon a condition. While Israel was killing Lebanese civilians, Iran sacrificed itself to stop it.
It’s pretty clear who your real enemy is. Israel has attacked Lebanon for years, and Lebanon has never been fully safe, just like all of Israel’s neighbors. Maybe that’s also why Hezbollah attacked Israel, because your government is working with Israel, which has killed a lot of Lebanese civilians, just like Abbas’s government in Palestine.
Israel is the main cause of most wars in the Middle East. Even the October 7 attack happened because of Israel. If you don’t let a nation leave their city and you regularly bomb them every year, you can’t get angry when they fight back.
And yes, we should look at the full history. But I see that everyone defending Israel only looks at what happened after October 7, as if everything before that was perfect.
