What actually happened with the alleged Iranian plot to kill Trump?

I learned of this a few days ago. There was a rumor of a threat that Iran was going to assassinate Trump on Air Force 1. He, in order to show Iran he was not afraid, showed news camera and reporters that he was getting on AF1 with no thought about it. He waved at the reporters, and then got on the plane. There were other reporters on the plane with him. Meanwhile, after the doors closed, the shade on the windows of the plane where he sat were closed, and he was taken to a back door of the plane inside of a cart, that led him outside the plane by someone pushing the cart. The plane took off--and reporters on the plane were NOT told he was off the plane. In other words, had that plane contained a bomb, they would have died. He did not want to risk it nor did he tell them. That's your president.

Well, I'm not sure. Very good question. As I can tell, they didn't kill him because he's still saying things in public that are incredibly stupid. Unless somebody is impersonating him, which I think would be very difficult to do, it seems like he's still going full steam. I guess the Iranians finally just gave up in disgust. I don't blame them.

The only people who know how the Iranians feel and what they do, are the Iranians. Trump has lied and said only 12 US soldiers were killed in this war; it's much more than that. Meanwhile, the soldiers, according to this reporter, are said to be in horrible conditions, with little hygienic materials to use, no soap, no sanitizers, no clean water, etc. Yes, he is a coward for sure.

Why would Iran possibly, conceivably want to assassinate Trump? He's done more to strengthen their power and the legitimacy of the regime than any Iranian has in 47 years.

They have actually said that Trump will die, no doubt, or they would want him dead. They have a statue or a picture, of Trump in a coffin.
On the day that happens, or rather that he dies, naturally or otherwise, millions will celebrate in this country as well as in the world. But I bet there will be riots and violence made by his supporters. They will blame Joe Biden and Obama for his death.

The thing is he seems to be losing supporters by the day. By the time he dies I suspect there won't be nearly as many supporters as there are now and hopefully no noticeable disturbances of any kind.

I think you are right, but this really has to do with cognitive dissonance. Having to stop supporting someone you previously supported means, in effect, that you have to admit that you made a mistake initially. Like apologizing when they are wrong, this is extremely difficult for most people.
