Not so much, they all take sides...
For example if a channel wants to be sided with someone, at least show the truth to the audience and than tell them that you support this person or this group or this party... etc

But news channels already show the truth you want to see, they naturally take side because they subscribe to an editorial policy, tailored to an audience, that's not a secret. And they don't want it to be a secret either, they want you to know that, so you can feel ideologically close whenever you read/watch/listen to the news channel in question. So you can feel part of the community.

Let's take whatever divisive event, say same-sex marriage becomes legal in whatever country. One news channel will address the topic in a way where you can feel the event is being criticized, lightly or strongly. While another news channel will talk about the very same event in a neutral or even positive way. Then it tells you what editorial policy you're facing, who are their audience and what to expect

Not really. You always have to double-check sources because most outlets spin stories for clicks
For clean and real updates, I usually stick to agencies like PBS NewsHour.

There is certain things I can glean from some news sources. When it comes to politics, which, in this day and age is in almost everything, not really.

Like a standard reporting about an event that happened, mostly yes.

But overall I don't trust news media especially the cable news ones.
