Is Istanbul flooded, and how can you escape a car caught in floodwater?

What's the situation in Turkey, if you live there? The news can make it look like the whole place is flooded.

I've said this before, floods are more likely and you could be caught in one. Be prepared.

I carry one of these

in the center console of my car. It breaks glass and also has a part (like a letter opener) that will cut seat belt straps.

I carry a tool as well. Will that break tempered glass? Can tell by the label on the glass. Some of the older ones won't and you need something that shoots pressure not just swing.

My current vehicle is a 2023 Explorer and Helen's is a 2020 Corolla.

not sure on those, have to check window glass. newer cars sometimes have tempered glass which is really hard to break... not like the old stuff that would shatter. See police when they have to brake windows. Be fun to practice!

kicking out the back window or windshield. Once the car is flooded you can open the door.

yes, not an easy game in many cars. Many cars have glass that won't break.
