When she's in a crisis, she reaches out, the best she can, which is probably irrationally, and very emotionally. When she is not in the crisis, she may not even be aware of the crisis she just went in, if she detached from the emotions, in the event. Detachment helps us survive intense situations but, we have to reattach and process the emotions, or part of us will always be stuck in that moment. You might want to pray about it and see if God gives you any insights.
