Should I tell my ex I miss him?

We dated for almost 2yrs. We broke up six months ago but we still text every once in a while (just hey what's up what's new type of thing). I really miss him. Should I text him that I miss him? I really want to but all my friends say no. I know that if I do I risk getting hurt if he doesn't respond or say what I want to hear.

Hey! Been there done that...Was in the same situation except the 2 years was 5. I wondered the same thing as you...i knew that I ran the risk of not hearing what my heart wanted and that I could get burned or even ran the risk of my ex thinking "wow its been 8 months and your still hung on me"...well I swallowed my pride...I texted him and in return we had a wonderful 2 hour texting convo in which we both admitted that we still every now and then think of each other and miss the time we spent together...long story short...its totally up to you...you def. run the risk of getting hurt with this...but you also will never know how he might feel if you don't...good luck! I know exactly how you are feeling!

Yes, I stay go for it. Life is too short to wonder what if. If you don't tell him, you miss him, you may miss out on getting him back. If you tell him you miss him you make take the risk of getting hurt BUT at least you spoke your mind. I was in the same situation but it was more than six months after our break up, and now we are really good friends taking it slow and seeing what may come of our friendship. So, I would tell him. Love is a risk! Go for it. You never know. Look at it this way, you aren't together now, so if he doesn't say he wants to be back together nothing has changed. Just prepare yourself in advance and regardless of what happens give yourself credit for not being afraid of the unknown.
