Oh that's not a healthy relationship. Me being harsh I would leave him because I see this not ending well because of the factor of him trying exert a dominant personality and it is seen as a negative impact on you and yourself esteem. Intimate relationships should not be about who's better, it just about you two together and enjoying each other's company. If he has some superiority complex then that can be a problem. It's one thing to be competitive and it's another to being a straight up dick about winning or whatever it is. I have been guilty of this, and I feel bad from taking it too far as a joke or not. What I said had an impact on the person receiving it, so I try hold myself back and find out a better way to express my win that doesn't put down the other player.

Well this can be applied to a relationship in general. Friends may have playful banter but if your feelings were hurt then letting him know would only benefit your relationship with him or sustain it. There isn't much people can do when there is no information for them to work off of, people can't read minds. Sure there's the argument for body language but how far can people read or notice it. And if the message didn't get across the first time and you want them to know then talking about is the best bet.
