What does it mean when an ex blocks me everywhere? He texted me on imessage saying the message below, and then blocked me everywhere on social media. He was very patient and silent throughout the relationship, he really loved me so much, and always walked the extra mile for me. I did a lot of mistakes, but I apologized and asked to be friends with him, but instead I got this. What does it mean? Do I still have a chance with him? What should I do when I see him in June..

“X, I’d be lying if I say we could be friends someday. It’s been 2 months. I tried to do what you asked for, but I couldn’t go beyond the mistakes to forgive you. I’m sorry, but I think it’s healthier if we end things for good. I wish you well.”

I think he made it very clear what he means. "I'd be lying if I say we could be friends someday." No, you don't have a chance together. He's moving on. He does not forgive you and is not willing to ever be in a relationship with you again. He doesn't even want to be friends ever again. We don't always get extra chances just because we ask.

Yes, I think it is. He recognized something he perceived as toxic in his life and instead of hurting himself by trying to force it, he let it go. He wasn't rude or insulting, he just politely explained his feelings and then followed through with it. I think that's a pretty mature thing to do.

Yes, I think he was really hurt and now he's moving on. He doesn't intend to stay hurt forever and is taking the necessary steps to heal.

Thank you for really putting it that way for me. I was pretty furious at him. But after reading this, I feel much better. I was indeed toxic, and I admitted in the end.. I guess I deserved it.

Sometimes things are exactly what they seem. It might just be a new IG account. I'm not saying it isn't him, I'm just saying that you shouldn't get your hopes up. If he's trying to let go, you should try to.

I did let him go.. I just feel regretful because I lost him. He really did love me and give me a lot of support. I wasn’t appreciative of it, and took him for granted

Mourn as long as you need to, but when you're done, take some measure of peace knowing that even from that pain, there's something of value. A lesson learned. You have new knowledge for your next relationship that you didn't have for your last one. You have improved and become a better person because of it.

It doesn't sound indifferent. It sounds like much thought has been put into it, and I think he's taken his time until making that decision.

Is it mature to block? Only if you wouldn't leave him alone, but I don't know you enough to know that. He definitely has the right to stay away from a person he doesn't want to interact with anymore.

Should you be angry? No, I don't think so, especially if you've been given many chances. Let's face it, you said he's always gone the extra mile for you. When this is not reciprocated it's a very logical thing to step away.

I used to interact with him on fb but really honestly not much at all! I just made a gesture that i’m ready to be friends with him through FB. So i started like some of the posts (they were really less than 8 posts). I never showed interest to his profile when we were together. I thought it would be a friendly way if I sort of tried to be nice through fb.

You might not have been that toxic. I don't know how your relationship was. But some people can't be friends with their exes, and find that it's better for them to move on and completely cut contact

We had this talk prior to that. We talked about things, I was guilty in a lot of things.. all what he said in the end was that he needed to feel loved and appreciated by him.. He had the right to feel that way because I never loved him and was vocal about it, I told him I loved him 30% only.. I was so hurtful to him.. but I didn’t want to lie to him..

It sounds like he was trying to be kind yet honest about why he was breaking up with you. And blocking you is tricky but in situations like this it may be the best action. This way there’s no way either of you can communicate and can have the means available to move on from one another. As far as you being angry or not, no one can tell you how to feel and not feel, that’s entirely up to you.

He may have used the block as a way to not be persuaded out of his decision. As I said before, a block can be used both maturely and immaturely. Given his response to you I have the feeling a block may have been the best way to handle things on his end. Especially if your relationship wasn’t healthy.
