If you did not get over the ex in 24 months, then there is something you are not doing right.

You seem to want to hold on to the impossible, thinking that he/she will return. It will not happen and you should act accordingly.

I presume that you keep memories, trinkets and memorabilia that reminds you of your ex. Get rid of all those things of the past and concentrate on the future. Reminiscing is nice but if it deters you from moving ahead, then you are harming yourself.

The danger is that if you find a substitute for your ex, you might drive him/her away by bringing up issues in your new relation about your ex.

Moving ahead means making a clear cut with your past.

Easy stop seeing their face, like if you have them on social media, you just unfilled, or if you don't wanna unfollow, just mute all their posts and stories so you literally never see them. If you keep seeing them you're just gonna keep thinking about them
