Why did he break-up with me in such nasty way? IS he a psycho?

Just before Christmas I started a relationship with one guy that is a customer at the company I work at. We met 6 months ago and he was constantly flirting with me, complimenting but never really asked me out. Until a day before Christmas he became very persistent and asked me out 3 times. We met after I finished work and started this whirlwind romance, we introduced our friends to each other, went to a wedding, spent NYE together, Christmas, he introduced me to his colleagues, boss, sent photos of me to his family, he picked me up from work every time I finished, took me out for dinners every evening we even joked about getting married and I spent 2 weeks at his place he even gave me the key to his apartment. Until one day, a few days before his 5 weeks-Caribbean solo vacation he told me that he's not the right guy for me, I deserve better. I broke down and started crying because I was shocked. Then he said how he was serious about me but realised a few days ago that I am not for him. He wasn't feeling our connection, that he has commitment issues and that he will never me and have kids. He said even if he marries one day it won't be ME and that we won't even last 6 months together so better break-up now than later and that I am too much for him and suffocating him. I was speechless, I cried my eyes out in front of him and accused him of just using me and had tears in his eyes too and saying I touched his heart. He offered me to stay but I decided to leave. He never contacted me since, it's been 10 days and he's already on his solo vacation, I would presume so. I am absolutely broken, I can't even process his words and I can't stop crying. I don't even know what happened...
