He broke up with me unexpectedly after a six month whirlwind romance. He saw me with another man and got angry. Why is he doing this?

We met online, and the connection was immediate when we met in person. It became serious very quickly. After 6 months he broke up with me unexpectedly. I was devastated. We kept in contact via text, here and there. We would bump into each other at the gym and have short awkward conversations. Eventually this turned into hooking up again. We linked twice. It was super passionate, mind blowing intimacy. We still remained cordial even after the hook ups. Then one day he saw my social media and I had a video posted of myself with an old friend (male) and we gave each other a friendly “peck” kiss in a drunken moment and my ex flipped. He blocked me on everything. I eventually got through to him via text and he let me have it! He said I “made my choice”, “I must have never loved him like I said I did”, etc. Then he proceeds to tell me that he had someone “waiting to start talking to him and he decided it was a go ever since he saw my social media post”. I’m so confused because he ended things, he broke it off. I truly loved him and was crushed when he ended our relationship. I was blindsided by the abruptness of the break up. I feel terrible that this hurt him, but that was never my intent, I was just with an old friend. Why is he acting like this? I still love this man, even though it was a short time of being together. You know how you have this undeniable connection with someone, it’s unmatched, it fits like a glove, so to speak. Did I truly do something wrong or did I just bruise his ego?

You don't sound like you're very serious about him if you're kissing another man and posting it on social media, regardless if you see it as harmless or not. That's not something to do when you're trying to show someone else that you want them. Regardless, you can do what you want given you're single. It's a dick move. It's a trashy looking move. It's just not a good look given what you wanted. I also don't just kiss my female friends when I'm drunk. If you can't control your actions when you're under the influence of alcohol, then I'd refrain from drinking alcohol like that.

Seeing you with another man any guy would find disrespectful. However if you really like him and want to make it work fight for it. He also seem immature and you should work on your communication. You should state you like him and you want something serious. If he is not willing to proivide you with commiting relationship he isn't for you then.

Is it possible he thought you were back together? He shouldn’t have, because getting back together usually requires verbal confirmation. I’m thinking he either assumed too much or is just otherwise emotionally immature and thinks he’s the center of your universe.

I wouldn't say you did anything wrong but I can see why he might have been hurt. It sounds like there has just been a lack of communication between you. Have you explained that the guy in the video was just an old friend and there was nothing between you? It sounds like he is important enough to try a little harder to get him to understand.

Def a lack of communication. I did try to explain that but he keeps shutting me down saying “I cut him with that video” and that’s all he keeps seeing. He told me to stop contacting him, so I’m going to respect that boundary, love him from a distance and work on my inner self. Thank u so much for ur response!

I don’t think it was bad at all... I gave my friend a peck and said BFFs ayyyeee... dumb drunk shit... I do understand that would b hurtful to see... I didn’t even realize I posted it, my girls had to check me the next day and I removed it immediately, but it was too late, he already watched it 😔

Look, this was an on and off thing anyway, so it really shouldn't have come as that big of a surprise when he ended it. So I say forget about him and resist any temptation to get in touch ever again.
