How does one heal a heart ache and scars from relationships?

I’ve been through too much heart breaks, disappointments, and mind games to now I don’t trust anyone when it comes to relationship.. due to this pain I have given up and can’t afford anymore pain..

I am done with the dating world - I am not going back in the dating world - I don’t date men.. I date women and I don’t have time for this dating world anymore why I’ve been single 8 years by choice.. at some point you get tired and I’m there.. no more of this bs with people and dating.. recently met someone playing mind games and lying.. thus hurting me

Time does a lot of the healing, but I also think forgiving those people and closing those chapters help in a big way as well. All of the emotion traumas don’t have to define you, and they only hold the power that they do when you allow it. By telling yourself that you’re done with love and just too defeated to try again, it’s like you are letting those men break your heart over and over without even trying, and I feel like that’s very unfair. Because they aren’t mourning over you, they are moving on, living their lives with other people, being happy and you deserve that just as much.
